there's a modified TWRP 3.1.1-0 on XDA thread that works. magisk doesn't work on the Oreo update but SuperSU beta does.
That's why I installed the pixel launcher after updating
just updated and it replaced TWRP with stock recovery and removed root and anything else I had installed as a system app (i.e. Pixel launcher).
make sure magisk hide is enabled in settings, or maybe try magisk beta version 13
