I currently have the oneplus 7 pro. and I'm curious to know if oneplus 8 pro will have the force mode just like the oneplus 7 pro had, which could be activated by using the cmd command, since the day I bought my phone it's running on the force mode and I love it like that.
personally, battery life is not an issue for me. and I'm thinking of buying the oneplus 8 pro if it will have the same option.
I watched MKBHD and he mentioned that the 120 Hz is adaptive and doesn't consistently stay in the 120hz unless the app allows it.
I know its very early to ask of this but finger cross the option can be enabled.

I got the confirmation from xda Devs regarding the force mode on op8 Pro and it works. So glad and can't wait to get my op8 Pro in few days.

Edit...... Finally got my phone on 21 April and I have tested the ADB command and it works and if anyone interested in the command its written below.
adb shell settings put global oneplus_ screen_refresh_rate 0

Thank you for trying and helping me with this mod. And yes I can definitely provide you the steps. And also, there is an app which does show the fps which can varify the results.

To activate the force mode you will need to follow certain steps.
1. enable the developer option
To activate the developer option you will have to go to setting, about phone and tap on the build number 7 times.
After enabling the developer option you will have to go back in setting, and systems and at the end you will see developer option. Once in developer option activate USB debugging. And once the pop up appear click OK.
2. And connect the phone to computer or laptop and let the driver install. And once done. On the phone make sure its in mtp and not on charge mode.
3. In computer search and type cmd. And open the command app. And in the cmd just type
adb shell settings put global oneplus_screen_refresh_rate 0
The phone should automatically enable the 120hz force mode.
To confirm the phone is in 120hz the option in setting, in display, screen refresh rate should show the both the 60hz and 120hz unticked. I have attached the picture for this.
