That wouldn't surprise me, Amazon are incredible. I'm about to spend way more than I should in the Black Friday sales just because.

The truth is that you have completely unrealistic expectations about how the world works. If you can show us a clause in your contract which explicitly states that returns are free then please post it here, otherwise suck it up, learn from your mistakes, move on with your life, live and let die.

Thanks. Received the device on November 5th. RMA initiated on the 14th. @David Y. Can you please confirm if I'm ok to hold the device until I receive further communication from your/CS team? Don't want to be penalized for not returning the device within 15 days of RMA initiation.

My phone was defective, and I still had to pay the return shipping. Most companies would at least offer a free exchange for a defective item. Not a good start for me.

In the case of a defective item, they should have paid for it,

What was the issue? Do you have a Customer Support Ticket Number? If so, please can you send me the details in a private conversation message using a (mobile) browser so I can see if we can escalate the case for you: https://forums.oneplus.com/conversations/add?to=superplus

the rules of this are simple; if an item is DEFECTIVE, meaning a manufactures defect, most companies pay return shipping; if you are returning something you dont like, want, or changed your mind, YOU pay the return shipping..

thats how it works most of the time; if you dont ask what their policy is BEFORE you plan on returning something because you dont like/want it, its YOUR problem that you had to pay the shipping..
Assume responsibility for your actions, and you will never have a problem...

OnePlus is making me pay the $15 return shipping fee to pay for their defective phone =(

(that said, Amazon is evil and can afford to pay for all of the return shipping needed because they have all of the billions of dollars)

I don't mind paying return shipping, but this will be the second time (within a month) at @$15 each, plus I've eaten the cost of $40 of accessories. I've essentially lost $70 and have no phone.

    That's kinda annoying.

You've had two defective phones from OnePlus in the span of a month?

Not quite. I literally ordered my first phone the day before I got the email about the purple going on sale. It's been about three years since my last phone upgrade and my previous phone died in mid September. I've been using a terrible BLU phone for over a month and I decided I could wait another week for a phone in a color I'd prefer. I never even opened the plastic wrap on my first phone. It showed up on the Wednesday the purple went on sale. I paid the $15, mailed it back and ordered the purple. It stung. I would have waited to order a phone had I known the purple was coming, but $15 isn't too terrible.

To then get a lemon of a purple (or from reading this board, sounds like many people are having connectivity issues and it's not just my lemon but the phone or software in general), which will cost me $15 to return, and after having opened my accessories which are not returnable, I'm eating that $40 too; it kinda stings. That's real terrible. I know it wasn't intentional, but that is a bunch of bad luck and the purples are out of stock; so I'm not entirely sure what I'm gonna do now...

I understand why they charged you for the first one, but if the second phone was defective and you were trying to exchange the phone, they should cover it. I would ask them again and see if they will reconsider.

You may also have to wait for the purple to come back in stock until you can get a new phone, but get the return/etc sorted asap as you only have 14 days from the date of delivery.
