In fact a Linux guide too can be handy for first timers....theres 1 in OPO Development section by @nguser .....I used that itself.

The OTA update failed for me today with the custom TWRP. I even tried manually installing the zip which is found in the OTA folder. But even that errors out.

Does that work for anyone with the rooted TWO?

That is because Lollipop system is like that even if you root, you modify it.So,flashing OTA won't work.
The reason why I had written to backup all partitions and take Nandroid before rooting.Flashing that nandroid and then flashing OTA works even with twrp.Or,if you had backup of all partitions, you could have used fastboot.

I took nandroid backup but only after flashing custom recovery. I would have taken one before rooting if your thread was created by then.

Now what options do I have? I am planning to enable stock recovery from TWRP and try installing the OTA update from the notification. Does that work?

Hmm..So you have Nandroid after having rooted your phone, right ? Well, flashing Stock Recovery might work, though it shouldn't ..You can try that.

I checked your OP and your suggestion of taking Nandroid and partitions backup using TWRP before rooting doesn't make full sense to me. As TWRP doesn't exist by then.

It does exist... When you use boot twrp, twrp exists but not permanently... It will go as and when your work is done.... You can take Nandroid and Root that time.... Funk has the non rooted Nandroid.. I will ask him if he can share that.
