OxygenOS 4.0.2 to 4.0.3 - Should I do it?

    I have 4.0.2 and it's running fine - should I update to 4.0.3 (received it OTA ~92MB)?
I've read so many complaints that I'm afraid of doing it - should I wait for 4.0.4?
    Are these complaints exaggerated?

What do you think? Should I update?

Its a subjective issue. Some users have reported issues with 4.0.3 but some others had no major issues. I dont have major issues with 4.0.3 but the SOT has reduced by around 2 hours for me after 4.0.3 install for similar usage.

Also, whatsapp is consuming lots of power. I am not sure if its an issue with whatsapp or with the 4.0.3 build.

You're, in your own words, "running fine".

You've heard many, many complaints that updating to 4.03 might change this.

Do you have a compelling reason (which you haven't explained here) as to why you would want to risk moving from "fine" to "very possibly not fine"?

Do you make all the decisions in your life in the same way as this one?

Everything worked fine on 4.0.3 EXCEPT car audio Bluetooth, which is very important to me. I tried every suggestion to make the BT audio work but was unsuccessful. Hence, I downgraded back to 4.0.2 and everything is working fine again. I hope the dev's are paying attention to the cacophony of complaints about Bluetooth media on 4.0.3 and do something to fix it on the next release. Till then, I'm sticking with 4.0.2.

My contact list went missing ever since I upgraded my One Plus 3 with Anroid-N. I am able to see my contacts in whatsapp and names are also displayed when I receive a call, but when I search names in my contact list I am unable to find my contacts.

Kindly advise how do I fix this issue

You're absolutely right. However, there's only 2 things (not very important)
    - the accuweather widget cannot be placed anywhere. That's an annoyance, but not mandatory.
    - call waiting notification doesn't always work.

But I can live with it and have a stable OS and wait for the 4.0.4

I had no problems with 4.0.2. However, since 4.0.3 my mobile data is switching off by itself which is incredibly annoying. OnePlus support was pretty useless, just suggested "do a factory reset". No way - it was fine on 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 so it has to be a bug they introduced.

** update ** It seems to be a bug with the Data Usage count...it was showing that I used 5GB rather than the 2GB that was confirmed by speaking to my operator. As I had "Auto-disconnect from network when data usage limit reached" checked I'm pretty sure this was causing it (I've since switched it off). Hopefully the data count will reset correctly next month.

I am facing only battery problems on 4.0.3. Before update I was very satisfied with the battery. I used to charge my mobile once in two days as I am not heavy user but since update I have to charge it daily and it doesn't last for a single days.
so the battery drainage is a major issue for me in 4.0.3
I think you should wait for the next update.

Same, Car Audio (and some smart Bluetooth speakers) will not work with 4.0.3.
Not sure still if it is possible to roll back to 4.0.2 without the full wipe.
    Interesting when 4.0.4 is expected

    Check this out>>>

Stick to the basics and you should be absolutely fine.....
Update all apps from Play store to latest version.
    Charge the battery to 100%
Boot in recovery Mode and delete cache.
Do the update to the next version.
Factory reset the device once the update is completed
Fresh install apps from PlayStore and update them to the latest version.
Investing the time in all these usually ensures smooth transitions ... Worth it !!!

I already did a factory reset when updated from 3.x to 4.0.2; I don't want to do it again - I don't have time for it and my phone is a work tool. I expect some expert knowledge form OnePlus IT's
And the update should be made in such a way that would not be needed. I had a Nexus 5 and never had to do a factory reset after an update.

OTA, have had no issues so far, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and camera , seem to be working fine.
I mentioned those 3 because, some have mentioned issues in those areas.
