4g won't work on O2 (UK)

    Alasdair , Apr 29, 2014 :
Not sure if anyone else has noticed but the OPO will not work on O2's 4G network in the UK. This is due to O2 only buying from the 800MHz region of the spectrum (band 20 I think).

Will happily be corrected by OnePlus if the OPO has been updated but the specs documentation (http://oneplus.net/one#specifications) hasn't.

Only Three & EE networks in uk will work with 4G on OnePlus One. The 3G for all networks will be very fast if you cant get 4G.

By that reasoning it should work if One Plus One has prepared the device properly. Sometimes a software update is all that is needed.

And even then, one of Three's bands is Band 20 and I guess that's what they'll have in rural areas? Areas where they're obliged to eventually set up 4G coverage but never had to for 3G?

For the 4g spectrum sale buyers have to provide coverage to 98% of the population by 2017 but for the 3G auction it only had to be 80%.

    Hii,
Just wanted to share something with you all about the one plus and 4G in the UK.
This is not gonna be a software thing, it's the hardware that doesn't support band 20 from a write up I read so sorry guys software update will not fix it.
If you want 4G on the phone you need to be with three or ee no other provider will be able to support 4G on the one plus.
Also I can confirm that o2 doesn't support 4G on the one plus as my wife has one and she only gets 3g. I haven't opened mine yet as I still haven't managed to do all the research to make it my primary phone just yet.
    Good luck you guys.
Post a like if this was helpful.

hiii guys just an update, i posted earlier that 4G dosnt work with o2 but ive noticed something you can activate LTE on the OP and then connect to the network data and speeds seem to be better off, well a little better to when LTE is off and your on network data. someone else try on o2 and confirm if your findings are the same as mine. good luck.
