5g in Switzerland

    Hey, I receive my new oneplus8 today but I can not activate the 5G, I am on Swisscom.
    At the moment I have only 2 3 4 g and LTE. 5g ist no ton the network list.
    Does I need an upgrade for OS ? If yes, when come this update ?

    I have the same problems with Swisscom, I contacted Swisscom and OnePlus, I think a OnePlus update is needed.
    The problem is:
    5G Swisscom supported:





    N1 (on air for swisscom customers)



    N78 (on air for swisscom customers)

    And OnePlus 8 supported:
    n2, n5, n66, n41, n71

    Hi, in this moment I am very confused, I contacted Swisscom and they told me that 5G is not yet active in Switzerland. But I don't think...

    If you have OnePlus support updates please let me know

    I have made instruction to enable OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, 8 and 8 Pro 5G any network: https://mt-tech.fi/en/modify-oneplus-7-pro-5g-8-and-8-pro-nr-lte-a-band-combos (hardware have to support 5G band). Otherwise you have to wait OnePlus provide update to enable 5G on your network.

    I have all supported combos here:

    Xiaomi seems doesn't have any restriction so 5G works. I have Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G supported combos here: https://cacombos.com/device?model=M1810E5GG

    I'm on Sunrise with a Oneplus 8 Pro. Sunrise seems to not be able to activate 5g for me even though the correct bands are supported.

    First I thought it's a Sunrise issue, but I slowly think something is wrong on the phones side.
    5g is in the list here, so I thought it would work, but nope.

    This needs more attention. This phone was expensive enough that 5g should work out of the box

    Sorry i don't have yet model IN2010 combo details. Do you have this model?

    Can you send to me log file from modem? I have instruction here: https://mt-tech.fi/en/how-to-get-4g-supported-ca-combinations-from-your-android-phone/ (scroll down to OnePlus section). This doesn't require root and use internal tools provided by OnePlus. Please then send your log file via email to combos@cacombos.com so i can parse it and then put combos to website.

    Now we have OnePlus 8 (IN2010) -model 4G & 5G Combos here: https://cacombos.com/device?model=IN2010 . There missing combinations with n41 and n79 because network did not request it.

    If your OnePlus 8 pro , OnePlus 8 or Oneplus 7T pro 5G is not connecting to 5G in 5G covered area .

    # Use single 5G SIM card in number 1 slot.

    Follow the steps here :


    1- install EngineerMode apk manually on your phone: http://www.mediafire.com/file/i72tnya1aawo09v/Engineeringmode_V1.01.0.apk/file

    2- On you computer you need to have OnePlus driver installed:


    3- QPST-application. Please find application from internet:


    4- The two XML files with enabled 5G network: http://www.mediafire.com/file/go0qava73eiz0m6/Carrier_Policy.zip/file

    5- USB-cable between your computer and phone.

    When you finish and ready:

    1- On phone you have to dial to *#801# and enable Rndis, diag switch. Don’t enable Serial-interface if you have installed apk manually.

    2- Connect your phone to your computer via USB.

    3- Open then QPST-application.

    4- On the menu Open Start Clients then QPST EFS Explorerand wait until you see the files.

    5- Then go to policyman.

    6- In the policyman - right list, you will see two file : carrier_policy.xml and carrier_policy.xml_Subscription01. Copy them to your computer as a backup if you need them in the feature.

    7- Now delete the two files (carrier_policy.xml and carrier_policy.xml_Subscription01) files from the policyman - right list.

    8- Now go to the tow XML files you already download earlier – 5G enabled network. Copy them to the policymandirectory , drop and drag one each time.

    9- Reboot your phone , your 5G is enabled now.

    # On OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro you may have to enable 5G NR via *#*#4636#*#* then Phone Information -> Set preferred network type. Choose :

    Thank you for taking the time to make such a great post.
    I followed every single step but still not working.
    I basically have the 5G logo showing but behind it's in fact LTE...

    Cellmaper shows NOT_RESTRICTED as status for 5G while it should be CONNECTED as I live in a 5G area.
    Swisscom says this on their website :

    "For technical reasons, a 5G device may display the 5G network icon even though it cannot use 5G in that situation and is actually connected to 4G. This effect is not unique to the Swisscom network, but due to the current developmental state of the mobile communications standard. The effect occurs in particular in first-generation 5G devices that cannot take advantage of nationwide 5G coverage and only support 5G+. However, customers possessing such devices always benefit from the best available network utilisable by their device."

    Could it be related ?

    Also for comparison, my Onplus 8 Pro model is IN2023 and my carrier is Swisscom. What about you?
