5G not working with WindTre (Italy) Jan 13, 2022 via OnePlus Nord Blue Marble

    Hello everyone,
    It's almost 1 year since I got this phone.
    It's about 3 months I activated the 5G service with my phone offer but there is no way to enable it...
    Looking around I found that A LOT of people is missing their 5G service.

    Is there a way to force the 5G ? There will be an update to fix it or I am obliged to change phone to have the 5G that I'm paying for ? EVERYWHERE this phone was advertised for the 5G BUT there is no 5G at the moment, sounds like a scam to me honestly..

    My 5G is working perfectly on Vodafone Romania at least 😏
    Try going to your provider, they may have to change something on their side so you will have access.
    Thats how i got mine fixed, and they also fixed my missing voice over LTE that was apparently disabled as well.

    5G is disabled by OnePlus for unclear reason. I didn't find out any announcement from One Plus about it.
    You can activate it by third party applications (there are a bunch of them on Google Store. Try find by '5G switch'). But it get back off after reboot.
    I'm going to wait a month or couple. If OnePlus won't fix it, I'm gonna turn it back to seller as not matching to declared functionality.
    Silence from the representatives become boring. I didn't want to consider it as a consumer fraud, but actually it's that.

    Not sure what have you actually find out, but i for example have nu such problems with my OnePlus nord.
    Unfortunately, i am not in an area that has 5G itself.

    Good for you... What phone model are yours? And what OxygenOS version are there installed? Main DN2013_11_A.16, OxygenOS 11.3.
    I know that some guys have the option 5G in menu of choosing Preferred Network. Main have no it. The hardware is 5G capable. And it works with my operator on 5G bands if I enable it by of that apps. Obviously it's a firmware issue.

    And I see your menu looks differently. I have no the option Smart 5G in my Mobile network menu.

    It looks like you have older version of OxygenOS installed. And it looks differently, main are already based on Oppo's version of Android - ColorOS.
    BTW if I enable 5G with "5G switch" application.
    The Preferred Network current value becomes to look so:

    5G is shown in the list. But when I enter to this point it shows all choices deselected and don't have the 5G mentioned:

    So it's definitely a limitation of the certain firmware version.

    Well, on one hand, i have Nord 1 and you have Nord 2, on the other hand, i have a dual sim model, while yours is just a single sim model

    On the other hand, try going in more advanced settings or even developer settings. There may be something you may use

    All Nord 2 are dual sim. I just use one sim on my phone right now. The fact that yours is Nord 1 explains the difference in interfaces and OS versioning. But then I didn't get, why did you decide that presence 5G on your phone with different model makes my assumptions wrong?

    There you should select what I rectangle. It works for me on my Nord 2 dn2013.

    Nope, didn't worked. I have a Nord 1, not the Nord 2 tho.

    Will the team answer these questions or not ? Lots of people are asking why the phone was advertised as 5G but there are no options for the 5G. Not in my country.

    Any official news ?

    Hmm.... I was sure that the issue is related only to Nord 2 that based on Mediatek chipset. 9 series shouldn't have this kind of issue.
    It should be explained by OnePlus officials.
