"true" 5G (mmWave) will always be limited in use. Will only really see it in major cities, won't be able to use it inside anything, even a car (maybe a convertible but not while it's moving). Of course that's why there is low band (only slightly faster than LTE but got a bit faster with the newest McLaren update) and mid band (which is leaps and bounds faster than LTE with my experience with it, I have seen over 800mbps download with it).

Are they really charging you $10 a month for 5G or is that what you are paying per month for the phone? I'm on TMobile and they don't charge me an additional $10 a month for 5G and they aren't supposed to be charging more at all anyway.

No, I'm not paying extra for 5G nor is my wife. We're on the unlimited plan which includes 5G. I was getting 5 Mbps download with 4G LTE at my home and now I'm getting 50 Mbps download. I'm very happy although I use wifi most of the time.

How will 5G benefit end users economically? I haven't read or heard a convincing case. Contract plans using 5G are expensive - to me that isn't an economic benefit, it's an economic disadvantage. The only parties benefitting from 5G are phone manufacturers and network operators. I don't think that 2020 will be the year that 5G takes off.

I don't see how some extra charge for 5G will exist long or even exist at all for most parts of the world. People that plans to buy Samsung S20 in Sweden can get 5G included with no extra price (when it arrives)... Yeah.. So selling before network is enabled and as best testing at smal areas [e]1f609[/e] But it should be here soon

I predict a lot of money will be made selling 5g capable devices to people without 5g. I also predict a neutral country will do a proper rf study on the frequencies used. Ten years from now we will have moved away from microwave radiation and have little terabit ir transceivers on the end of our home fiber-optic line.

India does not have a road map for 5 G in 2020. May be by the end of 2121 , jio would be ready to offer 5g. as jio has the most.modern network in the country and is capable of putting 5g acceleration in minimal time, I would expect jio to start offering 5g by June 2121 if the 5G auction is completed in 2020. so finger is crossed. and that's why having a 5g phone in 2020 does not make any sense in 2020.
