The global model is IN2023. The IN2020 is a CN version with a "Global ROM", so if you need band 28 for your 4G like I do, make sure you get IN2023. Or I believe it's IN2013 for just the standard OnePlus 8.

Can anyone give me the layman's version of why you need to do all these workaround to get 5G working? Why doesn't it just work out of the box if the band 78 support is there?

I understand the band 28 4G thing, risk I'll take given how little I leave the city.

The full version of Android 11 dropped today and I am unable to activate VoWifi or VoLTE as the apps won't work. Anyone have an update on the Engineer app to get it to work on Android 11?

    Hi Guys,

i've been following this thread for awhile. I was never able to get 5G working on my phone as when following the steps i had gotten stuck when trying to select my device through the software. However i was able to activate the VOLTE and VOWIFI.

I have just updated to android 11 and my 5g is working all of a sudden. I haven't tried to activate it through methods mentioned in this thread. BUT NOW my VoLTE and VoWIFI i can't seem to get working. When i type EfsTools.exe efsInfo into command prompt it comes up with "Critical error. Bad command"" in red writing too :|

Anyone able to get their VoLTE and VoWIFI working again ?

Hey I only had to switch from VoLTE_OEM to Commercial-TMO to get VoLTE working. Your guide was super helpful. Device was an IN2010 and on Kogan Mobile/Vodafone NZ in New Zealand.
Hoping this works for the IN2013 that I'm supposed to be getting from Kogan.

    Hi Guys,

I stumbled upon this thread while researching on buying the OnePlus 8 Pro here in Victoria, Australia. I am currently using a LycaMobile simcard with the 40GB for 30AUD plan. I was wondering how well the network coverages be for my particular carrier and if you guys suggest changing my carrier inorder for it to work properly with the OnePlus phone?

And also can anyone reply down below a link to where I can buy the OnePlus 8 Pro 128gb Global/ international version? (NOT THE CN VERSION OR FLASHED ROM).

I just purchased two Oneplus 8 Pro global versions from bestmobilephone.com.au and they did a great job in keeping in contact with me once I purchasing them. The shipping was quick via DHL express. They had only one in stock at the time, but were able to source a second one pretty quickly.

If they are out of stock I'd email them anyhow and ask them when they are expecting more stock.

Hi all, I've been following this for a while now. I have a global version of the phone IN2023.
Tried to make the adjustments mentioned above but could never get the phone to be recognised, so decided to be patient and wait for a fix from OP.
Updated to Android 11 and after a few days the phone connected to 5G. No idea what changed, but it was great and I figured the problem was solved.
Have recently completed the latest update for Android 11 and 5g is broken again.
My only thoughts were Telstra pushed some sort of config to the phone when A11 was installed as OP had fixed the Dual Sim problem and the primary sim was recognised as 5g capable. Coupled with that Telstra saw the device as 5g capable for the first time on this Sim/account and pushed the config files to upgrade the service.
Weird and frustrating it's broken again. People shouldn't have to hack a device to to get OOTB features to work.
Someone in OP knows what's going on.
If Telstra requires these config files why aren't they included in the build.
If Telstra pushed them to the device that one time, is there a way to trigger that again ?
