5G unlock in switzerland? (Swisscom, Salt, etc)

    Hi
    i bought the new Oneplus 9 pro and would like to use the 5g feature.... but as with previous phones you can not do this out of the box....

    is there already a solution for the Oneplus 9 Pro?

    Ah. Then I understand. You could always ask both your carrier and Oneplus via one of the channels listed at www.oneplus.com/support

    Any particular carrier you are most interested in? Maybe searching on it with advanced search can find someone already on the network(s) with a 9 series.

    Yes Good point I myself use Swisscom but in this case I've seen a user telling us that it works with salt so I'm considering to change my provider to salt if that is a valid option.

    Would of course be best if swisscom would work.

    Well it is kinda sad to see that we all have the same problem. Does someone something know about sunrise? Do they support 5G?

    Sunrise and Swisscom does provide 5G the problem that all Swiss people with OnePlus devices have, including me also, is that OnePlus locked the frequency off the Swiss providers (Swisscom, Sunrise and Salt). So the setting that OnePlus devices works in Switzerland must be a setting on the device. The problem is that OnePlus do not support Switzerland and that's why OnePlus do not attempt to solve this Issue. So to your Question, Sunrise provide 5G but OnePlus doesn't!

    Ill see tomorrow. I have contacted the support from sunrise and they will send me a new simcard. Furthermore this will not solve my problem because i tried my actual simcard on a S20 Ultra and i had 5G.

    So for now i would not recommend to buy the OP9 for 5G reasons

    that is the answer from swisscom support to me "Vielen Dank für die Geduld, ich habe es für Sie überprüft. Von uns aus ist alles für 5G auf Ihrem Abo aktiviert und freigeschaltet. Vermutlich unterstützt Ihr Gerät nicht unsere Frequenzen. Aktuell wird für 5G+ das Band N78 eingesetzt (bei 3.6 GHz) und
    für die schweizweite 5G-Abdeckung Band N1 (bei 2'100 MHz)." i have informed swisscom that these frequencies are supported and am now waiting for feedback. but i am not optimistic.
