5ghz problem

Is this a software or hardware issue.

Such a modern phone that can't keep up with the time.

It cannot hold the 5ghz signal unless its a few feet from the router. This is the only device in the house with this issue. This is my second OPO with the same issue.

    Thoughts.

Mine holds a 5 GHz AC signal fine but the strength is much worse than other phones I've used.

I've had the same issue. I noticed the issue the other day when I walked to one side of my apartment and I lost the signal. I thought it was an anomaly.

Using dual 2.4 & 5 GHz N on mine, it connects to 5GHz only if the phone is rebooted or if I manually force connect to 5GHz. In my priority settings, my primary is 5GHz, then secondary is 2.4GHz. My OPO goes directly to the secondary. I am 2 ft from the wifi. Tried it many times, did a couple of factory resets, but it doesn't change anything. My smart tv which is on another floor in the house has no problem connecting to 5GHz IMG_20140731_102936.jpg . Strange.

It's not strange. I noticed the same issue on my phone. I walked about 10 to 15 feet away and I lost the signal on my phone. I think it may be a software issue that can be fixed with an update but I haven't heard much about this issue before.

I'm surprised about the issues I've had with the phone. I feel like I was so focused on getting the phone that I didn't bother to read the forums about the issues current owners have with it and with dealing with customer service. If I did I don't think I would've made the purchase. It's too bad too since I really had high hopes for the phone.

I recently received a reply to my ticket from OPO that they are aware of the issue and "we're aware of the 5/2.4ghz issue and it should be resolved in a future OTA". No date given. I'm glad they are pro-active in their response. Meanwile, I'm using it at the 2.4 range.

Just putting my 2cents worth in here and say that I'm suffering the same thing. I can connect with both my office and home 5GHz router if I reboot but once I disconnect, I cannot reconnect. It doesn't even show as being in range in settings (and I'm standing right next to the router). 2.4GHz is no problems at all

You know I had a lot of wifi strength issues too. I have a 2.4 / 5 router an decided even though no other device had problems that I would play with it anyway. It wasn't until i changed the 2.4 over to a single channel (was dual with channels 7 & 11?) that the problem went away. There seems to be a compatibility issue, because no other older 5g capable device had problems before.

Look for a 20/40 coexistence router setting.

Same issue here. Lower signal strength on 5G. Always drops off and then I have to wait to get it back. No other devices have this issue. Have updated to the recent OTA and still have the issue.

Did you ever find a fix to the 5Ghz wifi issue? I'm having the same symptoms with my phone.

We're in 2015, I'm now in CM12... and always have the same problem : The 5GHz network vanish in the list... Sometimes it appears, and sometimes not...
Even at 1 feet of the router... I can't understand.

I have a similar issue, that it connects to 5ghz for a few seconds and then goes to the 2.4ghz band
