In the camera aspect ratio options, I only see the ooold boxy 4:3, or 1:1 or the new 18:9. Please make the 16:9 ratio available for capturing photos, that is a middle ground between 4:3 and 18:9. It would also be the standard screen ratio that our TVs and projectors have been offering for years.

I do see that it is not available yet.

And since we can only hope it will be added with an update, try using some other camera app in the meantime which still has this option. It's better than nothing.

yeah it makes no sense why they even have a 18:9 option because it'll look so bad on everything other than on 18:9 screens which are few and far between.

I thought it too. I don't understand this choice of removing the 16:9 aspect ratio for photos. Furthermore, shooting in 18:9 it crops part of the photo on top and bottom (obviously), so, if not seen on the smartphone (or any other device with a 18:9 screen) it is useless, really useless (in my opinion). I hope they would reintroduce the 16:9 with the next update.

Might as well just the 4:3...better res for printing pics.... I know that's not really a use case now a days... But just in case;)

Thanks, I got the Google Camera app that was ported as APK and its HDR images are reportedly much better. I am having an issue with it, the camera app takes one HDR image and then it won't let me take another photo, it stays stuck until I close the app and come back in.

Yeah, that's what I have been doing with the OP app, but the 4:3 just adds a big black box ona big portion of the camera capture screen.

I also find it really bad that 16:9 is missing. 18:9 is useless, but 16:9 is essential. We mix video footage and photos in 16:9 video a lot so 4:3 doesn't help there either.

I hope they will reintroduce the feature.
