6t fingerprint scanner inconsistent

  1. photonmammoth Donut Nov 8, 2018

    photonmammoth, Nov 8, 2018 :
For some reason my 6t can't ever seem to properly get my 2nd thumb memorized and function with it properly. My right thumb is always fine, but my left only works 5% of the time. I've tried re inputting the print several times too. One thing I noticed is immediately after doing that it is much more quick to respond and to recognizes the fingerprint almost instantly, but as the day goes by it seems to almost forget it exists? Any ideas?

This is what exactly happen to me, I'm a leftie and I always find my right thumb to unlock faster. My left thumb hardly works. The actual unlocking speed will only meet the advertised speed only when I go on a chain of lock and unlock.

i have noticed in past week is that, the whole finger or thumb should be covered on the fingerprint display. it doesnot take partial print into consideration. 0.34 seconds as per advt. yes it does, only when the whole thumb is covered, which is not the case when you are using ur fone on a continous basis during the day

i read o this thread that the best way to add finger prints is to do it in the dark that way no other light can interfere with the sensor, just what i read but havent tried my self.

Same by me I think the procedure to implement a finger needs to be longer so the reader can make more pictures of your finger

Changing the animation to the McLaren edition animation makes it way faster and you can do it without having s McLaren edition. download the app set edit op_custom_unlock_animation_style to 3 and it'll give you the animation and actually be a bit faster. I don't think you need root for this but people have done it and said it is faster and more consistent. as for it being faster if you use it right after using it again, every time it succeeds in reading the fingerprint it saves it to make it more accurate in the future. try to keep using your left thumb and over time it'll get better.

I highly doubt the McLaren thing is important whatsoever. The thing that is being watched for is within the green circle that illuminates the finger from below, the rest is just pure UI, if it were for me there would be no animation whatsoever.

Yeah I would have just disabled the animation but I tried the McLaren one and somehow it's a but faster. there's a post on Reddit and a bunch of people are saying it's faster.
