    Hello Community,

The day you all have been waiting for has come (and gone!) After plenty of leaks and several teasers over the past few weeks, the OnePlus 8T finally broke cover yesterday!
If you missed the live stream, you can still watch it here or read Pete's announcement thread to learn everything about what went down at the event.

Here's a quick recap of the major announcements:
    • The OnePlus 8T
    • The Nord in a new finish - Grey Ash
    • The Buds Z
    • A new Bass edition of the Bullets Wireless Z (India exclusive)
While the 8T wasn't the only thing that was announced yesterday, it was unquestionably the star of the show. I don't know about you, but for me, things are getting interesting. The way in which the market is getting populated with so many compelling options, at various price points, consumers have the absolute freedom to pick what they truly like. Fancy a premium look with a symmetrical curved design? Well, the OnePlus 8 in its striking interstellar glow finish might be the one for you. But if you're someone who prefers functionality over looks, then the 8T with its 120 Hz flat display is no slouch either!
So regardless of what you like (flat or curved), you will always have an option to choose from. Never Settle, right?

Still, that's only how I see it; I am not sure how you feel about the launch event and the 8T in particular. So to fix that, here's a challenge for you:

Share your first impressions or initial thoughts about the OnePlus 8T in 80 words or less!

You're free to talk about any aspect of the device. (Even the price!)
As there have been some drastic changes to the design of the 8T when compared to the previously announced 8/8Pro, you can share your views regarding that, or you can choose to talk about the camera and performance instead.
As I said, you're free to talk about anything! But remember you only got 80 words to make your point, so choose them wisely.

The user who posts the most creative and engaging reply will be rewarded with the OnePlus Buds Z, provided by OnePlus. The Community Team will also reward other entries they enjoy with 5XP.

    Rules:
    • You're free to post multiple times, but there can be no more than 80 words per post.
    • Entries accepted until October 23, 7PM HKT.
    • Winners will be picked based on the quality of content and creativity, so spamming the thread will not increase your chances in any way.
    • The community team will determine the winners.
    • Standard Terms and Conditions apply.
So what are you waiting for? Share your 8T thoughts in 80 words!

Outwardly entangled between Samsung and its own uniqueness, the Oneplus 8T simply astounds users at first sight. Light at its core, the glass shell shoulders ultra-fast performance at a single touch through interlacing the brilliance of software fluidity and optimised architecture. View it. Hold it. Use it. The sheer beauty of technological innovation has never felt so familiar, yet distinct. And that is the 8T for you.

    But the price is sweet!
    Its Thinner! I am calm,
    Bigger than my palm!
You got a phone that's hot!
But vapour chamber keeps it cool
Wide angle cameras, capture a lot!
All tech lovers like it, they drool
Cause the tech that OnePlus 8T's got!

The showcase ends, a sigh is breathed.

A questionable expression peers back from the screen.

“what is the point of the 8 and the 8 pro, when you’re just going to combine best bits and more into one phone?”

Yes it has rectangular features, it’s screen is flat.

It’s even a bit cheaper than 8, what’s better than that.

It doesn’t have wireless, which is fine.

It’s faster now with Warp 65.

But not going to lie, lunar is nice…

OnePlus has delivered yet another stunning example of fluidity and performance, in a package that's reasonably priced.

There really is little else like the 8T when it comes to fast-charging too. When the battery runs low it's a case of - whoomp - and in almost no time you can fill it up again thanks to Warp Charge 65.

    Brilliant display - it's flat

    Super-fast charging

    Speedy and smooth performance

Oxygen OS 11 is a refreshing take on Android

April 14, born as a twin but with anomalies. Being fragile Joey fitted flat-screen on me I lost some weight. Had troubled breathing, so Winkey installed OxygenOS 11 inside me. I needed a faster and better way to be alive daily, so was equipped with twin-battery with 65W charging. My eye vision was changed by Jimmy with Night video mode and wide-angle but telephoto removed I didn't like it but feel good overall. I'm OnePlus 8T on October 14.

Note - This is purely a fictional story and does not necessarily mean the thought process by OnePlus team.

The 8T has potential to reinvent the OnePlus thought. Considering the 8 and 8T have the same platform, they could be provided updates in the same timeline. OnePlus has a shot at differentiating hardware without messing up software. And, having a flat screen and a curved screen model at equivalent levels is also smart as hell. I hope OnePlus has stumbled upon a goldmine of a strategy. I hope they use it to support all its devices better.

    Another OnePlus wonder,
A bright day in the calendar.
    The launch lifted everyone’s moods,
The eyes shifted with all those “goods”.

Premium flagship with what-not in it,
The best OnePlus could ever hit.
8T in 80 is the challenge I’m in,
Yet knowing that I may not end up buying.

OnePlus Nord is what I possess now,
Only into a couple of months somehow.

Am sure it will succeed like its fathers,
Wish I get one gifted too, like others.

    🥂

*Silently praying for @YRJ, @TheGadgetGirl, @dsmonteiro, and other OP office's good eyes* :)

8T is an exceptional all-round device with a beautiful design, excellent hardware and top notch specs. Most of the reviewers have made impressive comments about it and I feel it's a good upgrade for someone using a 6T or older device. Yes, the cameras should have been better, but hey you can't expect a smartphone to be DSLResque. Overall the 8T justifies the price, holds excellent value for money and is a superb investment for 3 years at the least.

    The 8T is a beauty,
With a sleek and premium body,
    It provides great security,
To your data, it surely ain't shoddy.

    The OxygenOS is great,
And the camera setup is quite good,
    It's better than Oneplus 8!
    Buy this phone you should.

    The 65W Charging is Superfast,
With a long lasting 4500mah battery,
So aside your doubts you should cast,
    And don't be so jittery.

And Remember, Ultra Stops At Nothing!!!!

My submission is a limerick. Hopefully you know the cadence/rhythm to one.

There once was a man named Carl-Bee,
He killed the Jack with the jerk of a knee,
He helped design a new phone and helped set the tone,
Then bailed before launching the 8T.

So the phone launch happened online,
And the spec sheet did blow your mind,
It was about smooth and speed, it was exciting indeed,
I hope I can make this phone mine!

    "FLAT!"
No, not the launch event. I'm talking about the 8T's Fluid AMOLED screen! In the past I've made no attempt to hide my disappointment that OnePlus had started producing all their flagships with curved displays, but here we are - FINALLY - with a beautifully flat display and all the fist pumping stats we need:
    • 120 Hz
    • A+ rating (DisplayMate)
    • HDR 10+
    • 1,100 nits
    • super-low response latency
    • 20:9 aspect ratio

The brand took the NEVER SETTLE tag really seriously.
I think in India at Rs. 42,999 8T is launched at very AGGRESSIVE price.
Most important for me is 65W charger. Full charge in just 39 minutes.
In today's WFH time, smartphones are really important for work and when charger is fast, we can work more and longer.
and the charger is free [e]1f601[/e].

8T packed with Ultra smooth 120Hz flat display was alluring to see,
But, the 65W Warp Charger was the show stopper to me.

Rest features looked mediocre when compared to the already existing OP8 series.
IMX689 instead of 586, Monochrome and Macro, would have made it a flagship with ease.

And, The most impressive of all was the pricing to it.
Makes me wanna forget my girl, and put a ring on it.
