    That is totally wrong.
OnePlus supports 120hz, not fps. It is not the same. 120hz means that the display can refresh the image up to 120 times by second.
90fps means that the game is generating 90 different images every second.
So, if the refresh rate is lower or equal to the screen frequency, it is not a problem.
Some oneplus devices adapt the display frequency to the content that is displayed, lowering or increasing the frequency, to save battery.

the real issue is bgmi developers need to enable the 90 fps output for OnePlus supported devices.. then only once we launch the app, the phone will recognise that it supports higher refresh rate and will keep the refresh rate to 120 or 90 hz(depending on the model). right now we can achieve the 90 fps by enabling force higher refresh rate using adb command.

The 120/90 hz option in our phone is actually adaptive refresh rate thats y it comes down to 60hz whenever we launch the game. This was not the case with pubg mobile, because in that game the developers had enabled the support... The force higher refresh rate is hidden and can be only accessed using adb command, when once enabled everything will stay at higher refresh rate even though not all apps cam take advantage of this resulting into more power consumption

OnePlus cannot do anything about it.. only the game developers need to implement this.

I hope this explanation helps everyone.

thats just a setting which is enabled.. for providing output as well they have to work with manufacture.. just like in pubg mobile when 90 fps was announced the option was enabled but output wasn't 90 fps.. after a patch was applied we got the output of 90 fps.. so we have to stay patient regarding it..
