I have the same issue, it seems to be the issue will all one plus 9 devices not just pro. People are forcing 120 hz through different app that is not recommended. So I request oneplus devs to solve this asap. Doesn't seems to be Oneplus games app issue as when forced through app monitor does show 90fps. This seems to be an issue with implementating 90 fps in the games.

I am facing a problem in game
That when I am playing it is struck in 55 fps in both
Smooth + Extreme
Smooth+ 90fps
When in game it is 60 fps but after a few minutes it is down to 55 fps for the whole game
Please fix it

1. Download SetEdit app from playstore.
2. Find peak_refresh_rate.
3. Change its value to 1.

Enjoy 90 fps in bgmi

I already tried your method
After going to all the YouTube video I am here replying in OnePlus community app
The problem is:
After changing to value 1
I am getting 90 fps for 5 mins and again it is down to 55 fps constantly
And it is permanently struck at 55 fps
It is not even giving 60 fps

It was working splendidly before the android 12 update.
Even i have the same issue, excessive frame drops, over-heating.
Basically only way to fix this right now would be downgrading to android 11 and using set edit for 90 fps
