As long as you get better bang for your buck and don't see power consumption decrease then I don't see how this could be bad thing

I think the markets are open for an healthy competition between Qualcomm and Mediatek. Qualcomm has proved that OnePlus device's are great with there SOC
now OnePlus should also give one chance to Mediatek.

We'll just have to wait and see if the Nord 2 comes with a Mediatek SoC. If the Dimensity can match or outperform the Snapdragon then that would be a significant step forward. However, it depends on how the software is written to take advantage of it.

They just pumped up their processor for geekbench testing. Showing all fake scores scored by their processor

Perhaps, Oneplus trying to give more premium feature and functionality in budget smartphones by cutting cost at processor end.

I think that's good to have comp in the market especially with that 888 chip has been shown to over heat and start throttling performance , me personally would like more chips to be made by other companies 👍

Snapdragon is probably the desired brand to go with since they're established and perform well. That being said, if that's the trend you want to go for, you probably wouldn't be on these message boards for OnePlus in the first place.

If that's what the new device comes with, why not check it out? Maybe check out reviews first actually 😋
