To be honest, oneplus 7pro with pop up mechanism having water resistance is itself an innovation . Kudos for that team OP

In all fairness, that also applies to IP certified devices. Just like the "warranty does not cover water damage" part. ;)

What a strange thing to boast about (IP certification) and then not cover the damage it is to protect against.

so many words to say "op7 pro will not have IP rating"..maybe you think that 10gb of ram are more useful?!?!
this is another example of how you are not making phone for user

i think that IP rating is not important if you sell cheap phones, but, when the price can be compared with other top smartphones like samsung, apple, huawei etc you have to give us a reason to choose this phone instead of others, becuase every phone is fast and has good display, battery and camera, what makes the difference are the details, like audio stereo, type C with video, IP ratings, micro sd..
but, this is only my opinion

Which is an industry standard, if you check warranty policies of IP certified devices.

And what brands do cover water damage? That's usually an instantly voided warranty IP certification or not.

Have you considered that buying a bucket and shooting an ad might be cheaper than IP certification for potentially millions of devices?

Kinda reminds me of the consumption indication of cars. It can happen - but if its not, well its your issue.

Call it rain proof (wet conditions) or water proof (dunked in for x minutes), but be specific.

    Never settle.
