OnePlus don't provide ETA's for updates, but I'm sure if you're keeping track of other threads (7/7T specifically), you'll understand that it could well be delayed for 6 series devices.

Qualcomm encryption issues are marginally acceptable as a reason for delays in Android 11 updates. What is Oneplus' official excuse for not delivering timely security updates?

It's becoming increasingly apparent that Oneplus perhaps does not have the willingness, intent and/or funds to care about servicing updates to previous models.

Irony here is that like many others, I moved from Samsung to this sorry platform as the former refused to give timely updates. SMH

Infortunate timing now that Samsung is supporting more updates

OnePlus doesn't say the truth at all, so questions about update don't make sense. Anyway, for 7T-series OnePlus has broken the agreement about the 2 years of regular updates, so I think that all of you should write to the support in this matter. My case is in progress now. Every owner of 7T-series device has paid for the 2 years of regular updates, and now can demand its rights.

    Have a nice day... 😉

OnePlus 7 series people, don't expect stable release from this s**t company. I am an R&D engineer and closely work with development and QA team. The fact that there are no etas, it is just an excuse. There is always ETA its just OnePlus has useless and loosers working as their developer and QA.( they can't notice simple camera issue and fix it)

As soon as they think of working on older devices software, they have new series lined up. So basically they chose to make more money than to satisfy existing old series users.

They have taken 4 months now and yet no stable os11 for 7 series and if by any miracle they manage to give us update in so called "coming days", i can bet that it is going to be no better than their buggy, sh**ty beta builds.

Please don't recommend OnePlus to any of your relatives, friends.

    OP7T owner here.
Not getting Android 11 when was promised (4months ago), is one thing, but not getting security updates in time, is a more worrying one.
Most users won't care about which version of Android their phone has, as long as it works well and it has enough features.
Missing security updates and not fixing bugs, that is bad.
OnePlus phones are nice and with good specs, but the support is atrocious. The developers team @ OnePlus are not copping with all the devices they have to support and clearly this OnePlus department is overstretched.
It's like this since from the start with no chances to get better.
So to sum up, good hardware, ok software, horrible support.

I am sorry, but this is my last OnePlus device. I was tricked by reviews twice now (I had an OPX before), so no more
I couldn't/wouldn't recommended it to anyone, anyway, but for me it is clear that their business plan is forget old devices, make them buy the new ones.

    OnePlus - Never ... again.☹️

OnePlus 8 Visible owner - no OxygenOS11 available. No Beta builds available. No actual official response on the issue, despite numerous attempts to get one. OnePlus is well beyond a bi-monthly update cycle.

OP8 got 11 a looong time ago. It's possible yours might be a carrier variant which runs on a completely different update cycle.

Yes, that is the problem. It seems as though nobody is working on this variant. Carrier says it's up to OnePlus to provide the update.

You said your device is from... Visible? That's Verizon. Try using an app called Oxygen Updater to check for updates.

  18. B1615491290263 , via OnePlus Community App , Mar 22, 2021 :
Thank you for the suggestion. I've tried that, with no luck. The Visible phone is not the same phone Verizon sells. The Visible device has its own little support page, showing the last available OS is the September security patch, released in November 2020.

Mmm... this is why I hate carrier-branded phones, especially from MVNOs. I had a Cricket-branded S7 from eBay awhile ago and that thing barely got updates. Mostly 'cause the carrier it came from (AIO Wireless whom Cricket absorbed) stopped sending updates.

Well... At this point, I'm just looking for confirmation of the problem. Is it that OnePlus isn't supporting the Visible phone they have on their own support pages?

Or is it that the carrier is lying to me when they say that they don't have an OS Upgrade to provide, because OnePlus hasn't delivered one to them. Based on the fact that the OnePlus 8 Visible has it's own support page on the OnePlus site, I'm inclined to believe the carrier (this time).

Either way, I'm feeling ripped off. I bought the phone from Visible, who made no mention that it is not the same phone I could have bought directly from OnePlus (it's a whole big thing... I can't recommend Visible if you use Android phones - compatibility sucks). I can't get any official acknowledgement from OnePlus that they are working on the ONLY phone in the last 3 generations in 2021 not to receive an OS Upgrade.
