I absolutely love my OP 7 Pro 5G, but having come from a Pixel 2XL, I can say photo quality from that device still far exceeds my OP. And I actually think this phone takes great pictures, but the output from my 2XL was in a class all by itself. And that's with one camera! It truly is all about the software. Match that and this would be the best phone I ever owned.

PS I have also played around with a Moment telephoto lens on my OP with varying results. Get the software right OP. I know you are capable of better!

Go to the Google Camera Port thread linked with GCam Thread. Scroll down to the post with all the OnePlus devices or tap on the shortcut in the first post (browser only!).
Download the first GCam version in the list of your device.

I hope the thread is self-explained.

You say you'll focus resources on your own camera software but mine hasn't been working and although I've contacted support twice, only one solution was offered which was temporary and adds 20 seconds each time I want to take a video. I understand that you want to make improvements but it would be nice for the fundamentals to work.

Because it's not on the app store, I don't use it. However, if it was somehow officially available, I would definitely use it. I've heard great things about it and it seems more reliable than the OP camera app. Any chance a collaboration with Google could happen in the future?

Wait wait wait.... saying only 1 percent of 7 series users use gcam NOW is not an argument why his idea is bad. I would like to use it but after trying it and realizing how limited it is and how the 48 mp sensor becomes 12 mp i removed it and said that I will install it once it's usable... I guess that's never gonna be a thing...

Sorry, I don't want to say that your idea is bad, but I can't understand why so many people want to see a camera software support where OnePlus has little or no control over it. I dont understand those likes.
Instead of wasting time on a questionable bad implementation of someone else's software, efforts should be put into improving their own camera software.

Yes, maybe only 1.35% use the GCam port, but this is because it is not very well implemented considering it is an apk made by some people not very experienced and most do not know about it or do not know how to install it. (for example, my girl friend didn't know about it until I showed it to her and was pleasantly surprised by the difference in the pictures). And secondly, I think it would be a good marketing move to say that one of the best camera software works on your device. In conclusion, I think this is a very good idea!
