    @cdnfarmer,

    Can i ask your professional farming experience. Is that a turn of the century (last century) grain silo I am seeing in one of the sample shots?

    🤔

    The first pictures top left corner... Hmmm. Those look like the more modern cement silo we see now. Here a century ago, there were many wooden silos and a few single column cement silo (there was a time the cost of cement was cheap so some built them... Around here see a few). Think what we have here vs in Europe bis a bit different.

    Thanks for that. Very helpful. I know large cities with ports all had multiple pillar cement silos.

    But if i remember my history at school, I think these grain silos were all targets for bombing, and hence Europe has newer grain silos.

    So I'm wondering if one of our experts is non European, or perhaps has done some travelling recently.

    Hmmmmmm........maybe thinking too hard!

    Yeah maybe overthinking it a bit. Not sure how much people can travel these days with covid-19. :(

    In Portugal we have some silos. I would say it is an image of the silos of Almada ... which is on the other side of the Tejo River and you can see Lisbon.

    With a little help from @cdnfarmer, and @Helder_DAlmeida, I could replicate the first sample shot.

    It is in fact a very interesting building, the grain silo for a flour mill owned by the Aliança company, in the Almada district of Lisboa.

    Screenshot_20201010-141511-01.jpeg

    It was the very first full concrete silo built in Portugal, in 1872, and refurbished in 1897.

    It's derelict now, but designated a building of Public Interest. Based on its location, and surroundings, I'd say this person knows the city in every detail, good enough to be a tour guide. (And also shoots pics for google maps)

    😜
