Hey guys..tried searching online but couldnt find the answer. Please dont bash me if I missed out anything. Saw online that A3000 is US version but I just saw from China version OP3 also bear the same A3000. A little confuse here. can help a bit?

**Im waiting for Oneplus 3 delivery to come to my doorstep these few days. Hopefully it is international version. Bought it for USD406..cheapest that I could get

Wish OP would let we choose, since they all ship from china, or just enable all the bands like a nexus... oh well

there are 3 regional versions right?

    if a3000 is us
    a3003 is europe
then china is a3000 as well?

    blah. too complex nomenclature.

Whatever that is, it has nothing to do with the OP3.

There are 3 different OP3 models as listed at https://oneplus.net/3/specs.

The model numbers are not shown there but for some silly reason both the US and the China models are A3000, and the Eu/Asia model is A3003.

There is a forum theory that A3000 is one model and has some kind of firmware lock for the different band support between the 2 versions. There is hope that one day we may work out a hack to convert between them.

I can confirm A3003 is in Malaysia. We also gat late updates as well as different LTE bands. I'm still on 3.2.1 O2 OS, not that I'm complaining and I probably won't patch it manually either.

I had the exact same problem, as I own the A3000 model and I am in Europe.
The models are as follows (this has been confirmed by the OP customer service):
A3000 - North America / China model - different bands on them
    A3003 - EU / UK / Asia (excluding China) / India model.

The EU version is called "A3003" and "A3000" for US. At least according to Geekbying.

but A3000 is US version as well.

I want to look into the software lock theory. I'm gonna see what I can find about SIM cards and how the A3000 model handles them on a custom ROM. maybe there is a glitch per-say to make it work.
