How can I use adb to backup files from "sd". MTP is way to slow for me, and using ubuntu to transfer files isnt quite comfortable
    Thanks for help

Use Xender maybe? It offers a clean UI and I have transferred approx 30 gigs of everything in my internal storage way faster than MTP.
Also, Ubuntu's MTP file transfer freezes from time to time when the data or number of files is more for whatever reason. Linux Mint here btw so I know the feel.
And adb pull /sdcard should do the trick and should get everything in your current working directory.

Geepers buddy, you are completely off the track. The adb tool is something you install and run from a PC to perform operations to your phone over a USB connection. You don't run it on the phone!
