I absolutely hate this in mote I came to one plus because it was excellent reviews and I don't have the restrictions like Android and Apple and the price is half the cost.I'm almost 34 years old and I should not be dictated when I can and cannot use my phone for how long I want. I use a lot of GPS and stuff on my phone and a lot of things for my personal chicken business not only does zen mode drain my phone it also takes away my data what the hell remove this or I will go back to Galaxy

You need to see what is in background of the ZEN mode. It can communicate without your permission. It still running. Can check ID of callers and so on.
Agree with Silkpetal and going to Galaxy, this is not secure any more....

    ....
Notifications is not such a problem. The security is issue. You can not stop app, it is autorun again. Check permission of the app. What you wrote, it was already written...

    Q1555176722523 , Sep 13, 2019 :
In order to disable the notifications you have to open app, go to drop down menu, if not on first screen advance to second screen, or third scream if necessary, still not visible edit via little pencil, add Zen mode, exit edit, go to drop down menu, go to zm, go to settings, three dots upper right, disable or turn off notifications, exit Zen mode, go drop down menu editing mode, remove zen mode, close drop down menu edit, go to systems settings, open apps, if zm not visible go to settings upper right, three dots show system apps, scroll down to zm, clear cache, clear system info, disable app,

    Exit, stage left,
    tada,
    no more notifications.
I was able to disable this apps notification by doing this procedure, the other procedures recommended did not work on this phone, I also put full restrictions on this app.
This makes two apps that 1 + has forced on this phone without any possibility of deleting them, the other one is "shot on OnePlus"
I have no use for either of these apps.
As far as I am concerned they are wasted space.
I was able to disable both of them.
At least to my understanding of Android.
There might be those who would say that I did not, but I do not get notifications, there is no sign of either of these apps running in the background, so as far as I'm concerned, my procedure worked.

I bought this phone because it didn't have bloatware, I get the impression that 1 + thanks that most of their users are children or childlike adults that use their phone, they are gravely mistaken, there are some of us adults that use your phone for business and work, and to install such a app, that it creates so many issues for their users, many have sold their phones and gone to other brands due to a single app.
Interfering with their work, locking them out of access to their phones, waking them and their family up in the middle of the night, with no direct access to this app, it is considered a hidden app, even accessing it, I know a very few that actually know how to directly access this app, it is unethical of you to make it so difficult to access and so aggressively annoying.
I bought a OnePlus because I did not want to have to root a phone, I guess I'm going to have to settle for doing it after all.
Thanks OnePlus for being so misleading and deceptive.
I hear there's some good phones coming out of Europe.

Why does Zen Mode force me to grant all of these premission and Digital Wellbeing doesn't. Please allow me to remove this spyware from my phone or Pixel 4 XL here I come.

This is really unfortunate. Who knew such a small and supposed user-centered feature could cause so much grief? Yet, here we are...

If we can't disable zen mode entirely, and soon... My family will be switching to another brand. The holidays are coming up and it's time for me to make a decision.

+1 OnePlus, cummon, this is ridiculous. I NEED my phone to be able to stay on for work. I do NOT need it wasting battery and popping up annoying notifications telling me to stop working. I dont think the idea is bad AS AN OPTION. It wuld be good as a parental control, but it MUST be fully removeable (or at least able to be fully disabled, not just silenced.)

BTW, for those unfamiliar, the easiest way to silence it is to install the widget, in there thee is a settings gear you can use to disable the notifications. I also was able to go to the play store and remove its updates. After that it seems to not be running (though I think its still instaled.) I THINK if you don't run it again it may stay off, but Im not sure yet...

I removed the zen app with titanium, rooted obviously, and this appeared. The uninstall button in titanium does nothing on this app... Screenshot_20190929-022321.jpg

If this is something all OnePlus phones will have in the future with no way to uninstall, then my next phone will not be a OnePlus. I will Never Settle for this.

tell me this cupcake, if Zen mode is classified as bloatware, 1 + advertisers that they have no bloatware installed from the factory, isn't this leaving OnePlus liable for a lawsuit for false advertisement? Would be much less complicated in the long run to install uninstall option.
