Z1544075226506 , via OnePlus 9 Pro , Jan 22, 2022 : Had a huge update last night to version C40 and there were a ton of changes. Now when I hit the Square button to bring up all the apps, Close all will leave apps open. I've also got several notifications that it couldn't close apps or asked if I wanted to leave some open... If you hold the button down, it will bring up a list of apps that you can lock, which I was thinking was keeping the apps from closing, but that doesn't seem to be the case... It's very odd. Ideas? Suggestions? Thanks!
Chris1223 , via OnePlus 9 Pro , Jan 22, 2022 : No you are correct. Locked apps and the currently opened app when opening recent apps won't close when doing close all. That is what it's supposed to do and designed to do. If on power saving mode it will close everything.
Z1544075226506 , via OnePlus 9 Pro , Jan 22, 2022 : That's interesting.... And I don't like that. "Close all" should close all the open apps.... :/ Thanks for the info!
Chris1223 , via OnePlus 9 Pro , Jan 22, 2022 : You can by turning off locked apps. The point of locking apps is just that to lock them in recent apps. If it closed them then they wouldn't be locked.
Z1544075226506 , via OnePlus 9 Pro , Jan 22, 2022 : I've unlocked all of the apps, but having it not close the current open app is annoying... Like I said, Close all should close them all.... Maybe they should rename it to Close most haha

Chris1223 , via OnePlus 9 Pro , Jan 24, 2022 : I was first researching this when I first started using Oxygen OS 12. This feature has been in Color OS since I think Android 9 (I'm sure if I'm wrong on the exact version someone can correct me). So it's likely not going to be fixed or go anywhere because it's doing exactly what they designed it to do. It would be nice if they would update the feature so that those who don't like it could disable it..

sakshisaxena1 , via OnePlus 9 , Jan 25, 2022 : Close all does not close all apps. But when I swipe up each app manually, then it closes it. Also, it keeps the app in last used state. It's a bug and should be fixed.
Chris1223 , via OnePlus 9 Pro , Jan 25, 2022 : If you do research on how Color OS works you will see it is not a bug it is a feature. LOCKED APPS are NOT supposed to GET CLEARED. If you don't like it unlock them or You can submit the feature request and feedback : https://forums.oneplus.com/feedback/
Chris1223 , via OnePlus 9 Pro , Jan 25, 2022 : This lock feature has been in Color OS since about Color OS 3. Still trying to find the original article that explained the clear all our close all.
Chris1223 , via OnePlus 9 Pro , Jan 25, 2022 : Here is a really good Quora feed explaining in detail the lock app feature for Android. Which exactly explains this feature as I have explained it. https://www.quora.com/What-does-the...ean-It-appears-when-trying-to-see-recent-apps

Chris1223 , via OnePlus 9 Pro , Jan 25, 2022 : English please. Samsung also does staged rollouts this is still a staged rollout.
U1623515927426 , Apr 6, 2022 : You may call it a feature but what type of user-friendly software has a "Close all" button which doesn't close all? Maybe those who implemented the feature didn't speak English and hence were unaware of the meaning of those words. People talk about "locked" apps but there is nothing on my phone to indicate whether an app is locked or not. Certainly there is no "lock" symbol. Until a couple of weeks ago, "Close all" closed all the apps. I preferred the previous "feature" and not the new "feature".
U1623515927426 , Apr 6, 2022 : I don't have any locked apps but "Close all" doesn't close all. That seems to be a bug.
Chris1223 , via OnePlus 9 Pro , Apr 6, 2022 : It also won't close the current running app if it's activated from an app and not the launcher. Can we see a screenshot of your Recent tasks manager?
