Mediatek doesn't publish kernel codes for it's processors, which makes it impossible for further development and third party support for future versions of Android even after OnePlus ceases it's official software support for the device. Few bucks you may save right now, will come back to bite u in the long run.

I would never say that Mediatek is a dying company nor are their processors a slouch. But they are focussed on a different market. They make value for money chips for those OEMs who want to provide a quality Android experience on a budget. Qualcomm SD series are considered more of a gold standard in the industry, and they have a price tag that is associated with this premium.

The major issues associated with Mediatek is a closed kernel code model, which severely restricts timely software upgrades and third party support.

OnePlus has always been a brand known for a vibrant community of tinkerers, who thrive on customisability of the hardware and software experience. In this context, Snapdragon is a better option as compared to Mediatek Helios, due to all the support available.

Yet the SD 660 has been bashed by Helio P 60 in its fabrication 12 nm and performance.

Respected Mate, I am sorry if you fount this wasteful yet your statement needs serous considerations.
Qualcomm is a dying giant, which comes up with nothing new. Also, not to advocate it call but did you read about the MediaTek Sensio? Is it not great? Or the new Helio P range?

Sir this is the story of 2017. Also, MediaTek is the pioneer of Dual 4G VoLTE. The call atleast in India is not about exceptional speed but something beyond and that is great features at affordable price and that is the USP of MediaTek.

Are you high? Do you really think P60 can compete with SD 845? and if you're talking about a mid range phone by OnePlus then I don't think that OnePlus has any such plans.
As they denied the rumors of OnePlus X2 earlier .

If it knocks £250 off the price I could live with that:D
I will find out soon enough how good the P60 is when the Ulefone 2T pro arrives, as I will be taking a look at that.;)

even snapdragon 625 supports dual 4G volte.
For example the Asus Zenfone max pro m1 supports that.
