I am/was having this exact issue with OP7, and was just about to send it back for repair....until I removed the 3rd party case I had it in. And it now works like a charm - it also works with the case that it's shipped with, but not any other ones.

I know what I wrote makes zero sense, but the slider now works - can anyone else test this to confirm that I'm not going mad please?

Funny thing: it's been suggested many many times yet people still ask.

Its because people only see your suggestions only when they face the problem. Its fact...

After reading the whole thread finally got the solution for Alert sliding for Silent option is

    1. Grab your Sim Card opening Pin
    2. Clean the Inner side of Slider on the right-hand Side.
    3. Try to push hard from Ring option to Silent option and do the Zig-Zag for 3 to 4 times.
    4. Restart your phone and It Should have been fixed.

if still the problem continues Contact OnePlus Service Center for Hardware Change.

I'm advised that the slider is not covered in the warranty but a paid repair

Also, OnePlus is saying they don't have a complaints process.

Im done with this crap, i was an advocate and now they just screwed us all over...

Had the same issue, cleaning fixed. I used an air duster rather than trying to fiddle about with a pin. A good blast and it worked right away. Possibly dust caught under the slider which cleaning with a pin won't get.

I've recently been having exactly the same issue!

A bunch of people have suggested cleaning out the slider but I'm not really sure how one is supposed to do that.... Advice anyone?

You could try using a toothpick.

Toothpick or push pin if that's more convenient.

this is gonna sound really bad but I actually used the tip of a knife on this multi tool I have. but like, I reckon it's probably pretty dull by now considering I also use it sometimes to clean under my nails lmao

Honestly, anything that can fit between the grooves will work. All you're doing is clearing out debris or lint caught inside.

Same issue here and I confirm that it works perfectly after cleaning the slider. I used a pin or needle for it.

    The trick is simple.
Use 'HAIR PINS' and dont apply pressure just sweep the dust off and also clean out the dust that is stuck on the slider itself (except the duct)
