Guys! It's only a dirt problem. It happens as we have been using it from last 2 years. Go to OnePlus service center, they will clean it for free. Or you can google it how to clean it yourself.
No need to make such big issue out of it.

Nothing to do with dirty. The slider is a flawed component of the phones. This is just pathetic. These issues exist from AT LEAST 2017 and are still present in 2020, and have not been addressed since. They even exist in the newer models. I planned on buying a new oneplus, but I will not. If they don't want to listen to the community, I will choose a better alternative. The phones became too expensive anyway. Greetings from a use to be fan of oneplus.

No flaw, dirt build up within a mechanical part. It happens, clean it out and you be grand. Many have done this to rectify the issue. Dust, lint etc will always build up in these things.

Bullcrap. You probably are a oneplus troll. I cleaned the shit out of it, and the issue persists. Stop lying.

Also, for work I use an IPhone with a slider. How come I never need to clean that slider, huh? This is a common error/flaw that causes a lot of frustration. It is mentioned in a lot of topics and oneplus never addresses it. Shameful!

I checked your page. You indeed are a troll hired by oneplus, I guess to try to maintain a good image of the company by stating that dirt is the issue. Who else posts 9000 messages? You either are hired by oneplus or you have no normal life. The issue with the slider is present for years. Stop defending their crappy engineering and none existing policy of addressing issues.

Well then your one is physically broke then, does happen too. Go to an approved OnePlus service center and they can check it for you.

No need to defend it, my 6T works in a spiffing manner. Absolutely no issue in over 20 months. Wonderful phone. Goes like a hot snot. Battery life is out of this world, 10 hours SOT easy.

And my slider works the same as the day I bought it, perfectly.

Don't listen to this fool named Coamhin. He is paid and part of the furniture of Oneplus. Of course he trolls in the benefit of Oneplus. These phones are kind of useless if they have this bug/defect. And no, warranty is already void.

As you can see from many of the posts further up, many people fixed theirs by Cleaning the Slider.

If you still have issues with yours then Report the issue directly to OnePlus Developers as a Bug report.

And also contact OnePlus support directly to see if they have more information on your issue. Scroll down the page for contact and online chat details.

No. I won't contact customer support. Because they don't do anything anyway about the issue (that's apparant).

You can all say dust is the issue, but for many people it's not. And those many people will probably NOT buy an oneplus again, including me and my girl. I don't pay a lot of money for a phone that has those really dumb issues which could be easily addressed by software updates or new hardware adjustments for the newer models. But no. Oneplus goes the easy 'I don't care about you' route. Copied from your government, probably. They don't give a shit about you either.

I'm happy to till you that the smae problem happened to me and I managed to solve it by cleaning the sliding bar using a very fine needle.

I used at the beginning the sim tray pin to remove the dust but the silent mode was still not working until I used the needle.

The sliding bar is so sensitive😁

Yeah, I do believe the tolerance for the alert slider is way too tight. As in, it only takes a small amount of dirt to limit the alert slider movement to cause problems.

I used to have the same problem it went only through vibration/ring but never mute even when I tried to use force, all I did was clean the slider by using a q tip or by using a toothpick and cleaning the interior of the slider. Worked for me hope it works for you.

I am using a silicon case . If I use slider with it it gets bugs like you guys have but if I take the silicon case down then my button works fine. You should try it
