    Hey everyone,

    It's time for October's OxygenOS FAQs! Here, we sort out and answer the most frequently asked questions regarding our operating system to give you all the info you need.

    The latest FAQs are as follows, please read on.


    Q: I can't find the weather app in the Launcher's widgets after updating my OnePlus 8 series to OS 11.
    A: Currently, the new weather app is not available as a widget. If you want to use the widget, you can add it to OnePlus Widgets in Launcher to access weather data. Setting path: Long press Launcher > Choose widgets - Drag the widget in OnePlus Widgets containing weather data to Launcher.

    Q: Why do desktop icons or drawer application icons occasionally disappear after upgrading to OxygenOS 11?
    A: If you encounter this problem, please follow the steps below:
    1. Please reboot your phone firstly.
    2. Please open the Google Play Store app and update the OnePlus Launcher to latest 5.0.1 (or above) version.

    Q: The OnePlus 8 series is occasionally unresponsive to the pulling-down action of the status bar in landscape mode.

    A: This issue has been optimized in the latest released stable version of the OnePlus 8 series. Please download the newest version and try it out.

    Q: The loading speed of the Gallery has become slower.
    A: This issue has been fixed in OxygenOS 11 and the latest stable and OBT version of the OnePlus 8 series. The latest version can be downloaded from the Play Store. Other optimized versions based on OxygenOS 10 will be released soon, please stay tuned.

    Q: Why does AOD display's brightness seem low?
    A: To save power and avoid screen burns, AOD controls the brightness within a reasonable range when enabled, hence the brightness may seem a bit low.

    Q: I want to try out the new Zen Mode.
    A: The new Zen Mode 2.0 has been fully released on the Play Store and it is available for OnePlus 5 & 5T, OnePlus 6 & 6T, OnePlus 7 & 7T series, OnePlus 8 series, OnePlus 8T, and OnePlus Nord.

    Q: Why can't I use widgets in the new version of Zen Mode?
    A: The new version of Zen Mode does not support desktop widgets. You may find them under quick settings > swipe left > Zen Mode.

    Q: How do I use the Hands-Free feature of Amazon Alexa in OxygenOS 11?
    A: To use the Alexa Hands-Free feature with OxygenOS 11, please follow the steps below:
    1. Download the Amazon app via Google Play Store.
    2. When asked for permission to the microphone during the Alexa Hands-Free feature setup, choose "While using the app".
    If you lose access to the Alexa Hands-Free feature, please go to settings in the Alexa app and try this: Settings > Alexa on this Phone > Alexa Hands-Free > toggle Alexa Hands-Free to 'On.' You will be asked to provide permission to microphone and choose "While using the app".

    Q: The messages app crashes on the OnePlus 7/7T series with OxygenOS 10 version.
    A: Thank you for your feedback. The issue will be resolved in an OTA update, which is being rolled out currently. In case you've already received an update, please check whether the issue is resolved. If not, please wait for the stable build. The updated app will also be available on the Play Store soon, please stay tuned!

    Q: The messages app occasionally crashes on the OnePlus 8/8 Pro with OxygenOS 11 version.
    A: To solve this problem, please try this out under Phone: Press and hold the MMS app icon > tap "App info"> "Storage & cache"> "Clear storage." We will also fix it in future updates. If the problem persists, please send your feedback to us.

    Q: Why won't the pictures in the "Places" category in the Gallery show up?
    A: This is a known issue, and the team has been working hard to fix it. It is expected to be fixed in the upcoming version. Please watch out for the updates of the Gallery application on the Play store.

    Q: After updating to OxygenOS 11, why do I need to pull down the notification bar to tap the "Clear all" button when multiple notifications appear?
    A: We are already working on this problem, and it's expected to be resolved in the future OTA updates.

    Q: Why can't I see the "Quick delete" button in the Messages pop-up window after updating OxygenOS 11?
    A: If you encounter this situation, please try this out: Open Messages - tap the three dots in the upper right corner - Settings - Turn on the "Quick delete" button.

    Really... very very very excited to have hand's on experience of OS11. The smoothest android I've used. Have some word on OnePlus Nord mobile.. When you'll release OS for Nord.?? Give some beta version of OS 11 on Nord like 8 series. who else along with me needed this.?🙋🏻‍♂️ Who else eagerly waiting to experience this..?? 🙋🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♂️

    @Gary C. Strange that you claim to answer most asked questions here, when the 5 and 5t users has been asking continuously, on your own thread, about the status of the update for 5 and 5t. You claimed there that you realized the mistake of not providing timely status updates and then disappeared keeping the users in dark for more than a month now. Do you really mean what you claim or is it all just a fuzz to make it look like you care about your customers?

    I guess the most asked questions is "why their is delay in Software release for older devices?" and that is not answered. Has OnePlus decided not to answer this question because they are like only interested in selling their new phones with pathetic gimmick advertisements.

    There is no update for Oneplus 7series now and you are asking about 5 series friend. OnePlus doesn't care about older phones now. Time for us to switch to Samsung or Pixel devices.

    @Gary C. Why can't we update OnePlus Messages app from Google Play Store and why does it shows Your device is not compatible with messages app. Fix this issue with OnePlus devices and with Playstore. If you can't provide update option through playstore it forces users to use third-party websites to update OnePlus apps.

    Please fix this issue.
