@OnePlus, It is in fact likely that some of your users would miss essential notifications, this is because not all of the people are blessed, some do have hearing impairment.

When the phone is away kept on a table, they check if a message has arrived or if there's an incoming call by observing if the screen has lit up or not.

Treat this feature as an accessibilty feature rather than just another feature, so that people who have hearing impairment can just have a look at their AOD and know that they have received a notification.

    Hi,

Yes me too i miss AOD a lot, coming from a Samsung phone.
I miss the LED also, a lot a phones have one, an it is low about battery usage.
For AOD, in my case, the screen can stay off if there is no notification. So power consumption will be low if no notification.

I have more than 30% battery at the end of the day, so I really don't care about consumption.

On next phones, please add a LED if you don't want to implement AOD!

    Regards

    OnePlus, don't 'do an Apple'...

You can't decide whether to allow a feature because your statistics say the consumer won't benefit; that's the customer's choice! I usually have 50% battery remaining at the end of the day, with my usage; am I not allowed the choice to use this battery for AOD?? At least consider an AMOLED LED notification blinker?? We want to SEE our notifications hands-free, I don't WANT to check every 15 mins.....

Android is all about giving users the option to use things so please consider that before you guys decide not to add something. if we want to use extra power on AOD then we should be able too.

if you're gonna be so controlling over battery then you should be putting bigger batteries in

In this era AOD is an essential element of a smart phone. All the other company have already this feature but OnePlus is still lacking this feature which is totally unexpected. I would like to request to the OnePlus developers team to add this feature on future updates starting from the 6t.

I invested in a smart watch as the job I do requires my phone to be on silent majority of the time, AOD would be nice but it would just replicate what my watch tells me.

you are asking us to settle when your tag line is never settle... atleast give an option to turn it on or off let the end user decide whether we want that extra hours of battery or AOD...

Why waste soo much resource on study? Just drop a damn toggle to enable or disable, whoever is not concerned about battery life will use it. Rest will shut the switch up 🤦🏻‍♂️

don't you think this defeats the purpose of OnePlus laboratory...***laboratory***..

let the user decide themselves and report feedback while you still work on this internally.
don't be like apple and be - 'we decide what our customers need'; 'you won't miss notifications even without AOD'...
