I often read the question in this forum, how much does the aod battery consumption is, or the statement: after I turned off AOD I got some hours of more screen in time...
So I tested it on my own
1. Without aod
My device consumed 6% battery over night (538 minutes) and was 93% in deepsleep
The battery consumption was 0.66% an hour
2. With AOD activated
My device consumed 12% battery in (395 minutes) and was 89% in deepsleep
The Battery consumption was 1.82% an hour
(I did not touched the phone during this period, like night idle)
Now you might simply say AOD consume 1.16% battery an hour but you need to calculate it different
In a 24h time frame my aod is active from 7:00 to 22 = 15 hours
So it's in normal standby (0,66% an hour) for 9 hours
In addition I have a screen on time of around 6 hours which reduces the 15h to 9 left for AOD
So basically battery consumption with aod is
9x0,66% = 5.94%
+ 9x1.82% = 16.38%
+ screen on time
= 22.32% when not in use
Compared to 18x0,66=11.88% when not in use when AOD is off
So my final result (and yours my be different) is that AOD with my schedule consume around 10% battery charge in 24 hours
On an average day I use around 12-13% an hour battery when screen is on. Which means enabling AOD is consuming around 50 minutes Screen on time in my case
Maybe this helps someone
