    No one knows.

OnePlus stated they are working on battery optimization before deciding to include Always On. There is a topic in 7 series about features that are coming or might be coming. Next time use search.

It's a shame, man. OnePlus shouldn't babysit us. We as consumers have the right to decide if we want to trade battery life for AoD. To each his own. They shouldn't be deciding for us.

Indeed, the users have been crying out for it since oneplus started using amoled panels in the op3. Oneplus just don't seem interested.

Maddening and weird since they are usually so receptive to the demands of the users.
An app can never do what a built-in feature can. That's why I have been going back and forth with this new app. It's really great, but am trading 4% of battery life per hour.

It will not get better with built-in AOD..
You should all be aware of that...

Samsung does it all the time. Even their midrange phones have excellent AoD. That's really embarrassing.

By the way, I am absolutely fine with losing an extra 2 to 2.5 % an hour if Oneplus implements it.

After we discussed AOD in a different thread a couple of weeks ago, I decided to do a little test with my s10e. One day with it on and one day with it off.

From my AOD activating at 6am and me getting home from work at 6pm, the difference was an extra 7% over the 12 hours with it on.

    Thank you!
This is the point I have been making all along. Since it's in-built, it's using up only .53% an hour.

Now,even if Oneplus can't do what Samsung can, I am willing to settle for 2 to 3 % an hour.

Look, Oneplus shouldn't pretend to really care about the users. They took away the headphone jack, didn't they? So I say they should stop their hypocrisy and let us decide whether we want to use AoD or not. Period.

On a different note, lucky you man! Damn! If only I had a Samsung S 10. What a fool I was to invest in Oneplus 6.
