Hi
@Redback.D. thanks for the reply. Sorry I didn't see your message for the last 2 days. So as you might know HID is the protocol used by all human interface devices(mouse/keyboard) with which we interact with the computer. So the 2 top scenarios are simulating the phone(One Plus devices) as a mouse/keyboard/trackpad for other computing devices that support Bluetooth HID devices (ie computer, tv, firestick, etc. ) which currently my app does. And there are many other apps that can be made to convert the phone into Bluetooth speakers, headsets, joysticks, gamepads, Bluetooth webcam and the list can be endless. People can even create custom hid devices.
So I request you to enable this Bluetooth HID device profile in One plus 8 at least. If possible please enable this in all older devices also which have android pie, android 10(i.e. from One plus 3/3t/5/5t....to 8 Pro). There are a lot of One Plus users who are wanting to use this feature but can't. I have posted those user screenshots in the IDEAS platform link that I had put in my AMA question. You can check it if you want. I have been trying for the past one year to somehow reach out to One Plus developers to please enable this feature and I thank you for considering enabling it.
Another thing that I want to mention is that this was a part of Stock android Pie so I think One plus should have it enabled. Being a developer I wanted to use my One Plus 5T to create the app but it was disabled. So I had to buy another device(which I didn't want to ) only to create 1 app because I like all the other features that One Plus provides. I also want to request you to please not disable such features that are part of stock android as then we cant always use One Plus as a developer phone. I don't know if you have disabled any other features that are part of stock android. If you have, then please reconsider enabling them so that One Plus is developer-friendly.
If possible please let us know on which devices you finally decide to enable the Bluetooth HID Device Profile.
Thanks.
