Over the last few years I have noticed similarities in phone designs from different manufacturers e.g. screens with curved edges, punch hole front facing cameras, colour schemes etc. Are these similarities a result of current available technologies and materials, consumer preferences and requests, constrained by shape, size and user friendliness of a mobile phone (ie. there are finite designs of a phone and so similarities are inevitable) or is it straight plagiarism of the hottest desirable design? In order to stand out from the crowd would you start from a blank slate or would you look at current offerings and look to improve?

@Hope L. ... Will we see any products other than phones from OnePlus in the future, such as tablets, laptops etc? Personally, I would love the idea of a OnePlus laptop, and would definitely buy into one!

The early days of android were filled with lots of ingenious and unique design implementations which seem to have plateued out over the years.
The smallest differences seem to polarise people and create controversy at the moment. With a good level of maturity in the market and solid understanding of what design decisions consumers agree with, how do you intend to differentiate and break away from the pack?

What visual design feature of OnePlus phones says this is s OnePlus phone? And I don't mean the company logo.

I'm asking, to enhance the brand, all your phones need to tell the user and more importantly an observer that's by OnePlus.

I get that the new designs are great and innovative, but I am still struggling with upgrades. I have asked OnePlus direct as I would like to upgrade to the newest model as the specifications excite me as they leave iPhones standing. My issue is when I looked to trade in my 18 month old 6t 128gb, which is in perfect condition costing £535 was only offered a max of £100.00. It seems to me that OnePlus don't value their own phones, why would I spend over £800 on a new model when in 18 months it will only be worth £180-£200 if I'm lucky. it's a real shame as I may as well go to a different make or iPhone as they hold their value on the high street and with Apple. I would upgrade tomorrow but the maths doesn't calculate well at all. Everyone has dodged this question by saying that it is just the trade-in system and can't do anything about it. My question is...... if OnePlus don't value their own phones then it is just a bad investment for me as value should be priority.

I feel like the design of front facing cameras hasn't really been solved yet. where do you think we go next from where we are now?

How do you work with developers cross-functionally to ensure your designs are put to life as closely to your vision?

Will OnePlus ever make different limited edition phones other than the McLaren edition?, as it seems whenever they come out it too difficult to get your hands on.

The design itself is very artistic and futhuristic, the sqaure design is widly used now by other big tech companies aswell, the vessel layout is amazing and the camera design is great. I do not like the colours alotabey if you use diffrent colours like fanta black or like less known colours
