In terms of specs, Kuo says the Amazon phone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, a 4.7-inch display with a pixel density of between 300 and 320 ppi, a plastic housing, a 13-megapixel main camera supplied by Sony, secondary cameras supplied by Primax, and a battery sized between 2,000 and 2,400 mAh.

BGR has independently confirmed some but not all of those specs. If this is true and 100 dollars less it would be intriguing

I think it'll be a failure. Probably be good enough to earn a little profit but nothing that will make an impact.

Not bad spec-wise, but too small for my taste.

    You are absolutely correct.

Regarding price, that'll be very interesting as will what features they choose to include.

I believe that the display size was heavily influenced by the incessant buzz of iPhone devotees who continually defend Apples long time use of a tiny display and never ending whining about one handed usage being a must have size.

I might buy it, as a secondary, sell my current phones that have no warranty support anymore. Having a fallback phone when your main one 'dies', you're not near a charger, but you still want to be able to make calls and play some games? Might as well get a not-so expensive one. This is assuming the Amazon phone is indeed unlocked and cheaper than the 1+. If it's not, then I might as well save some more $$ and get 2 1+ 64GB, assuming OP allows it. .-.

Amazon's crippled OS, no Play Store support, and the crappy Amazon App store! Where can I sign up to pre-order this amazing device??

Haha, yeah, those facts are killing the device. The Kindle fire tablets are also awesome devices, at least if you look only at the hardware. All the Amazon devices are only interesting if you can get CM running on them.

I like Amazon, I buy a lot of stuff there. I also got a Kindle 4, great product.
But a phone with their own data plan...I don't like it.
