Amoled Burn-in

    Hi Guys!

My navigation bar has burned in the display. A greyish navigation bar is partially visible at the bottom of the screen against light backgrounds. It's not noticeably in the dark Theme for example.

Is there anybody who has the same issue? And how did you resolve it.

    Regards,
    Neil Richard Innis

PS- Don't ask for screenshots because the burn is not visible in screenshots, and I don't have another decent camera to attach images of the burn.

I've got this device from a relative of mine who upgraded to the OP5 recently. He gave me the phone as it was not in use for 3-4 months. I can't comment if he used the phone on full brightness or anything.

high brightness is the major cause for burn-ins...
you can try few apps those are available on playstore... they can work if the burns are relatively new or not that bad...

    Thanks.

I was wondering if there are any apps that have been beneficial in the case of our OnePlus 3/3T ?
Also, I found this AMOLED Burn-in Fixer app

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tinyroar.amoledburninfix

What I can't understand is that should I keep the navigation bar active during this procedure or keep it off? Suggestions are welcome.

The burn-in isn't that bad, it's just visible when one closely nit picks against light backgrounds.

    Regards,

    Will try and report back.
It needs patience. People using other phones recommend to run it for half an hour.

Practically screen burn in's have no solution as it is a physical damage.
Most you can do is cover up with dark themes.
Disable navigation bar and use physical buttons.
Hopefully in time rest of the screen matches with the burned in part.

Did somebody report that with time the burn in matches with rest of the screen?

Yes the burn in's can be matched with the burn fixing apps you talked about to some extent.
That's what they do. Increase or decrease brightness of a particular area to camouflage the burn.

The only thing that causes burn in is bad panels, too much brightness and too much screen on time.

People with 1min screen off time is more likely to burn the screen than those who have 15 secs.

I was wondering if using a navbar which keeps changing its colour with the apps should be used instead of the usual black navbar?
Will it in any way help in reducing the burn-in in future?

I also came across articles saying that trying to fix the burns with the fixer apps and long colourful videos is gonna hamper the other pixels and reduce the life of the display over-all.

So, thinking to give up and let the burns be as they are. It's better to hide these scars as they can't be erased.
