They have lost loyalty, over the op2 and opx. Apparently you didn't see it but lots did and passed on the OP5. People like me.

I can't say I'm an expert in phone cameras, my previous phone was Oneplus One, and the one before an HTC Sensation. Before that I didn't even have a camera on the phone. So I'm not here to try and compare it with the S8 or iPhone or anything. But I can say one thing: I've been using the Oneplus 5 camera for few days, and so far it took pictures comparable to those I've shoot with an entry level DSLR Nikon camera in good light conditions. As for low light shots, it does maybe slightly worse than the DSLR again. In the end, I'm quite happy with the camera. It may not be the best out there, the hype they built over it is questionable, but it's a solid camera with great performance in good light and just the performance you'd expect from a phone in low light. And there's that tiny white spot in the back, called flash, which can be useful for low light shots sometimes. Just sayin'

felt the same. my sister's galaxy s7 wins in all aspects except for that portrait mode. one+ 5 camera in low-light is no easy near to s7 performance. after upgrading from op 1 the camera. is still a let down.

Agree re pictures of trees and sunsets, I've never done that, a flower or 2 yes. I've tried to take photos in music gigs and pets and friends indoors most of the time.

It is not only a question about image quality. You oversee that OP marketed the OP5 as a product with DUALCAMERA.

Now try to make a shot with 2x. After that look in your exif data of your image. You will see an aperture of 1.7.

But the so called tele lens (wich actually is a 35mm wideangle in fullframe terms) does not have an aperture of 1.7.

Hence you can clearly see that it does not use the other lens at all, although you hit on 2x for the "telelens functionality"

    Look at the specs:

Every photo that is taken with the tele lens has to have in the Exif data at least an aperture of 2.6. A lower number is physically not possible.

Now what kind of excuses do you find for this cheating?

P.S.: I own by the way both, the OP3T and since Saturday also the OP5.

If I take a photo at 2.1x zoom or above and the EXIF information does show f/2.6

And for what then is the 2x button?

IMHO everything over 2x seems to be a digital zoom, not optical anymore. And because of the 1.7 aperture of the 2x button, it seems to be also a digital zoom (made with the real wideangle lens).

I do not need to buy a phone with a second lens, if I want to have a digital zoom. I can have that with every phone on the market since a few years ;)

I asked for a explanation from Simon L. (head of imaging at OP) in the Q&A yesterday, but it seem that they do not want to answer this:

what constitutes better may well be subjective but the point bus_her was making in his original.post, about cramming more pixels on a sensor Nd the resulting degradation in IQ is not. Its THE reason why camera makers are not engaging in their megapixel wars anymore. Its probably why iPhones still have, what, a 13 mp camera ?!

Yes. Even I am little disappointed with the camera. I find the camera very noisy before capturing any image. Hope they will resolve this issue.

That's a great video. Though he didn't catch that the OP5 will also not use the telephoto when you've set the camera in Pro Mode. Why the heck the telephoto is locked out in Pro Mode - I have no idea.

I did a lot of comparison between the OP5 and my OP3 and most of the time the OP3 takes a better picture. Considering how much OP hyped the camera on the OP5 this is just criminal.
