Thanks for the update. I have OB12 installed on my device. So far i have no problems. I have PIN set up. So far everything is ok.

You people should understand that you are using Open Beta software and there fore bugs can sneak in. You should be ready for this or you should not use Open Beta software. They test but can't spot everything cos the bug don't show on every device. Good thing is that they are there for support and they contacted people with problem's and hopefully fix their devices.

Thank you ONEPLUS for Open Beta software.

Yes I installed it all and I did not open my phone, I had to reset it to factory settings, I reset it and all my information was deleted, but now I am using 12 beta as no problem

It is indeed a risk, but I'd expect normal bugs, not bugs that make you unable to access your own data. That's exactly why you have internal, daily builds and closed beta builds. Not being able to unlock your phone is a major problem, as you can't decrypt your data. Also, Open Beta isn't cutting edge software... That's the internal build that nobody but the own team has access to.
Doesn't mean it should have happened. Let's say it's indeed 5%. 5% of 50k testers, then that's still 2500 people who lost their data, or can't use features at all. Then again: such major problems should occur at daily builds or closed betas.

Yeah. Of course it should not have happened. But if something can happen it will happen sooner or later [e]1f609[/e]
I guess I'm very tolerable and forgiving when it comes to bugs. I won the lottery and wasn't affected by this though 😋

Would have been interesting to get a better insight of how internal testing is done before they rollout a beta. Apperently not tested enough in this case... But if something can happen...

Thanks for the excuses. However, how didn't OnePlus catch this in either the daily, internal builds nor the closed beta (weekly) builds?

really haha it's beta if you use a beta build this could happen.
A alpha build is for the big bugs and a beta for bugs like this.
If this happens in 1 of 1000 cases because this specific user sets of this bug than a beta build is the moment to find out.
Maybe you don't mean this in a bad way but if anybody want a relatively bug free os choose stable.
OnePlus gives a explanation and excuses they do not have to as anybody who installed a beta chooses to experience bugs.

You clearly didn't read my other comment: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...plus-7-pro-and-7.1217847/page-3#post-21537710

How can you call a bug that made you unable to access your data (even though it's 5%, if it is 5%, AKA 2500 people) not a big bug?
