    hey.

For me, the Google Assistant does not work in the lock screen. Is that a hassle or is it just not working on Qxygen OS?
    (1+ 7 Pro)

    thanks for help

    greets from Austria

can't we just ask to use a pixel.OS and call it done? stop trying to reinvent the wheel. I have a pixel 2 xl and recently bought this, and this hardware is great, but everyday I miss using my pixel software.

swipe up to open app drawer for one. from anywhere not home screen only.

suggestions in Google search and in app drawer of whY I may want thru AI. this phone is sort of crap without that. There was all the buzz about camera, but that turned out to be lesser than the single camera and superior software and algorithm of pixel.

the hardware feels good in hand and build quality is top notch, don't get me wrong.

but a pixel/AOSP rom is what we really need.

I hope this is something on the lines of MIUI. It's absolutely awesome.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how Oneplus might do it? (No vertical please, horizontal scrolling like iPhones).

are you trying to seriously say it is more natural for your thumb to move horizontally than vertically? If so, you are a rare specimen, and generally human thumbs swipe vertically. maybe you've been machine trained a certain way by using inferior software, but it really isn't natural.

edit: the person quoted is not the post I clicked to quote/reply. The person I was replying to was requesting horizontal scrolling for recent apps and some other stuff that didn't make human sense.

this is not the first time this has happened, OnePlus, if you need someone to sort stuff out for you, like app development and coding and quashing bugs, let me know. So far, this seems like a joke.

no. you are wrong. after 9.5.8 update, there were nonapp or system changes made. Prior to that update I was fairly impressed with battery, the after update it went to shit. I changed nothing. I think it's pretty obvious when you look and see everyone else saying the same thing. I know these metrics, I'm new to o e plus, but not new to Android. That said, I maybe need to check the auto-update setting on this device. Been using Android since 2010 and this is the first device I've ever had install updates without me permitting them. It's happened twice, and that is BS and I think you don't know what you think you know

It doesn't auto-update, and what could they change to affect battery? LOL

    You people are nuts

So, you are saying that from 9.5.7 to 9.5.8, Oneplus changed WHAT to make YouTube go from 27% of your battery to 42%? Without changing the Youtube app itself since that's Googles, most of the OS is AOSP, and all the governor settings that control battery are in the open source kernel (and easy to see that the settings haven't changed).

The other possibility is that you watched Youtube twice as long.

I noticed a camera problem with uniform surface colors. The same conditions and the same wall. 7 Pro, OxygenOS 9.5.8.

I've been around Android long enough to know that just because the kernel hasn't changed and the governor hasn't changed doesn't mean all is equal. I don't even know if this kernel uses BFQ or smartass schedulers cuz I don't have time in my life anymore to be concerned with such things. I DO know that where I used to boast how awesome it was to be getting 6+ hours battery life,as soon as 958 was thrust upon me, I haven't gotten more than 4.5 hours with the same apps and same usage habits. But screen on time is not debatable. So the ridiculous argument of watching YouTube more or less is clearly uninformed.of how these metrics work

Clearly, you don't know what you are talking about. The updates are never installed unless you say so, and if you are wrong about that, you are wrong about your usage.

BFQ isn't even a governor, it's an IO scheduler. The gover is schedutil, meaning it's EAS and Oneplus isn't smart enough to **** with it. There is nothing else to change.

You obviously know a lot more than all Apple , Oppo, Vivo, Google , Samsung software engineers and researchers combined. Horizontal swiping is more natural and intuitive. Also, you might want to take lessons on manners.

what I miss on my 7 Pro is the health app I had with Samsung including the oximeter. Thanks to my old phone I discovered I had a problem with getting enough oxygen and was able to identify the triggers and consequently calm myself down as I watched my readings return to normal (panic makes hypoxia worse). It took me a long time to settle on a new phone as I wanted it all and this was the one compromise I had to make. I see mobiles of the future to be the guardians of our health counting calories by either taking a picture (not accurate) or scanning a barcode from something we bought to eat or drink, checking the level of inebriation by asking the user to perform a series of exercises much like walking in a straight line, even being able to test glucose levels on the go etc. Maybe our mobiles will be able to read our temperature even.
