    Hey folks:

Keithnyc from the OnePlus Ambassadors program. I hope ya'll had a great Summer and you're getting ready for the Fall (well, that is unless you're on the south side of the Equator...then I'm jealous and I want to join you). I'm here to talk to you about OnePlus' latest addition to the family for us folks in the US and globally....the OnePlus 7T which comes already pre-installed with Android 10 (OOS 10.0.1). While Android 10 is the latest and greatest addition to the Android OS family, the 7T with Oxygen OS just makes it that much better...and thanks to OnePlus' Open Beta program (thank you, testers...), OnePlus has been able to ready this in a staged roll-out worldwide to all users.

Generally speaking, Android 10 (and the accompanying enhancements to Oxygen OS) brings about several design changes to provide for a more a seamless integration between the user interface and the overall user design. Seemingly minor enhancements (e.g., you can now select different icon shapes in your Quick Settings with their new customization feature in Settings) simply make for an overall enhanced user experience.

On the system itself, improvements include enhanced local permission settings for increased privacy over apps, photos and messages that you can control. Specifically, this enhanced privacy management gives the user more control over how each of the apps have access to the “location” permission, i.e. you can "always allow", "allow only while using the app", "forbid" or "don't ask again once prohibited".

    Some Oxygen-specific enhancements include:
    • System-wide dark mode (my personal favorite!!!),
    • A new game space feature so you can store/organize all your favorite games in one place for easier access, a more personalized experiences and better gaming. Now all your favorite games can be found in one location, with easy access to the Fnatic Mode and Graphic Optimizations options.......you can now even track you amount of time spent on each game app, though you may be surprised! ;)
    • Additions to full screen gestures (a BIG favorite of OnePlus users for quite awhile) now include the addition of inward swipes from the left or right edge of the screen to go back and a bottom navigation bar to allow switching left or right for recent apps
    • Enhancements to the Smart Display which provides intelligent information based on specific times, locations and events pertaining to that application (e.g., weather, calendar and other apps) for the Ambient Display; you can find this in Settings – Display – Ambient Display – Smart Display). So are you listening to music? Well, just double tap on the locked screen to see the name of the song. Cool.
    • And are you tired of all those spam messages you're getting? Well, OnePlus hears you.....in Messages, it's now possible to block spam by keywords.....just head on over to Messages – Spam – Settings – Blocking settings. This is also a super useful feature to block things that are not necessarily spam related, but are messages you no longer wish to read about (without necessarily blocking the sender)
So these are just some of the highlights for Android 10 and Oxygen OS. If you want to see further information, just head on over here to https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/introducing-the-new-features-on-android-10.1099864/ for a lot more details and some helpful feedback provided by the OnePlus team and our awesome community members.

See you guys in the forum!!!:D

I would like to suggest a more customizable option for the Horizon lights. for example it could be compatible with music or change the animation or color wheel for the notification lighting .

    Hi all.
Just got my new one plus 7T Pro. It seems that some apps are now not allowed to work in the background. Apps like quicksave for Instagram or GSAM battery monitor pro or Accu battery. They just don't work at all until you open them.
I tried turning off the battery optimization but it still won't work. Is this an android 10 thing or is my phone defective?
    Thank you
