Android 10 Update Keyboard Gap Space under keyboard

    Rage_hardscope , Oct 21, 2019 :
I have attached photos of before and after the update to android 10.

In short, after the update, it is not possible to make my keyboard as small/short as it used to be before the update. This has made the keys huge and spaced too far apart for fast typing to be comfortable.

Also there is now a huge gap at the bottom of the screen which pushes the keyboard up the screen and now I have to relearn where all the keys are and it wastes precious screen real estate.

    Please fix

I agree with this complaint, massive empty space down there, apparently saved for some buttons that we have removed in exchange of actions...

But why would I want to remove those buttons if I'm not gaining anything (screen real estate) by doing so? I'd hope for a fix about this...

Guys, this is by design by Google. Nothing OnePlus can do about it.

    I think it's great!

Not exactly. Samsung phones will also have this gape since Android 10 update coming out. Check the One UI 2.0 beta mockups. This feature is provided by Google since Android 10.

Any solution found yet for this gap? Except for an app?
This gap is annoying not only below keyboard but reduced the utility of swipe buttons as well as gap is there on home screen also

I just checked on a Huawei p30 that got updated to Android 10. No space to be found under the keyboard there.

Same issue here and I've had many issues like it. I actually prefer my oneplus2 to my oneplus6 which says a lot considering the jump in price. This company started out well but have soon fallen into the role of greedy and lazy; hence why I won't be purchasing another phone from them. Too many bugs that never get fixed and little to no support in getting them recognised let alone fixed.

Yup, the whole point of gestures is to save screen estate and make it bigger, not waste it with a huge black margin and make the phone look like 5.5 inches!

Is there a way to fix this bug?
