    Hey everyone,

We are very excited to announce the first Android 12 Beta as part of the Developer Preview Program for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. We have been working tirelessly to provide all OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro users with an early opportunity to use the latest version of Android.

OnePlus devices are some of the most developer-friendly phones out in the market. By providing access to Android 12 at an early stage, we enable app developers and other early adopters in our community to start creating even better software experiences. For more information, please refer to
    https://www.oneplus.com/os/developer-preview/android12

As the name suggests, this build of Android 12 is best suited for developers and other advanced users, as it is still in an early stage of development. That said, we do not recommend flashing this ROM if you have little to no experience in software development, if you expect to use the device as a daily driver, or if you have no experience flashing custom ROMs. Proceed at your own RISK!

    Known Issues
    • All data will be cleared while flashing the build
    • Video call function is not available
    • Fingerprint unlock and face unlock are unavailable
    • Certain UI screens look less than desirable
    • Some apps may not function as expected
    • System stability issues
    Caution!
You should understand there is a risk of BRICKING your phone, read the instructions carefully and be 100% sure of what you are doing. Please always backup your important data before flashing.

    Please note:
    1. These instructions are only for the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. Please make sure the battery level is above 30% and a minimum 3GB of storage space is available.
    2. Carrier version devices (TMO/VZW) aren't compatible with the Developer Preview builds.

MP version – Stable official version
DP version – Developer Preview version
OBT Version – Open Beta version

This is an early Android 12 build to give developers an early chance to test their apps with an upcoming Android version. As such, its main purpose is not to collect bugs. If you want to provide feedback about any bugs you face with this build, you can use the official built-in feedback tool by Google.

Still, your feedback is appreciated. We may not always be able to respond to every comment in the forums, but please be assured that we take your comments and feedback seriously. Hope you enjoy and let us know how you feel about the update in the comments below.

    Never Settle.

    As always: The rollback guide!

Sir, how do I go back to Android 11?

    Prerequisites
    • internet connection
    • this APK
    Video guide

I prepared a video guide for this, as many people loved the written one. However, it did not look good with the screenshots. So, here is the video guide. WARNING: The last step requires an extra app install this time. See STEP E in the written guide.

    Written guide

    A:
Take a backup of your stuff. Everything will be erased once you flash the rollback build, so do a backup of your nudes before doing anything.

B: Download the rollback build that fits your device.
If you are opening this from the Community app, you will get a white screen when you tap a link. On that white screen, tap the three dot menu and choose "Open in browser".
This will start to automatically download your file.

C: Rename the file. (The reason for this is that the rollback build, for some reason, is downloaded as a JAR file, while the updater needs it to be a simple ZIP file.)
Go to the File Manager app and navigate to the downloaded rollback build.

For example, if you are a European user with a 9 Pro, you should rename OnePlus9ProOxygen_22.E.08_OTA_0080_all_2105011323_downgrade.zip.jar to OnePlus9ProOxygen_22.E.08_OTA_0080_all_2105011323_downgrade.zip
(Just get rid of the .jar extension)

    D: Move the file.
The official guide says "root" directory. What is this? Well, doesn't have anything to do with rooting your device.
It's just the thing that you see when you open the File Manager first.

E: Flash the rollback build. This time, it's a bit harder. Extra APK, extra fun!
Thanks for reading, hope I could help a person or two.

    Hey guys,

I've temporarily removed the download links based on the feedback from users in this thread. I'm sharing the feedback with the software team so they can look into it in the morning at HQ.

OnePlus needs to do a better job supporting Android on all their devices and not just there flag ship phones. Still waiting for Android 11 on OnePlus Nord N10 5G and likely not going to see Android 12 😞. If you're supporting your devices then you really need to be supporting your devices. Not just patches but full upgrades on all your currently supported devices.
