Android Auto Issue After Pie Update

Have a Ford with Sync, previously AA worked flawlessly. After update, any non Google apps are not launching. Google maps, Google music, Google podcast all work fine. When I launch Waze, black screen and freezes. Spotify or Pandora gives the error Android Auto Media, Pandora doesn't seem to be working right now.

I uninstalled AA and reset system, no luck.

wiped cache and reinstalled, no luck.

Uninstalled Waze, Spotify, Pandora, Android Auto, wiped Chrome Settings. reinstalled, launched, same issue.

If I launch Waze first on my phone, then connect USB, then select Navigate Home from AA, it opens it.

Any ideas or is anyone else have a similar issue?

I actually have this same issue on my 6T, figured it's relevant so I could mention it and see if anyone's come up with anything . It's sporadic because last week it was working fine .

    OOS 6T Beta 7
    Android Auto 4.1.590944-release
    Waze 4.49.1.2

Edit: also should mention this is happening in a 2019 VW Jetta with the factory Carplay/AA radio so it doesn't appear to be manufacturer specific.

Felt it was worth mentioning since it's likely an AA or Waze issue and not an OOS one, but ok. Not a big deal man, you'll be fine.

I found with my Kia I had to open each app first before plugged in to run AA Then it worked fine. Did you take the car for a service ie have Ford updated your software..

Android Auto failing on OnePlus phones seems to be an OxygenOS issue. Installing alternative ROMs [eg. LineageOS, CM, or (the best at present) MSM Xtended] cures the problem.

And yet people on OxygenOS find success on using Android Auto...
    Not all for some reason...

Make sure you don't have deep optimization of battery turned on, that broke AA for me with media playback

Well I've had problems since the Pie update on my Oneplus 3T, worked fine before update, Android Auto closing on first opening, on second click it works but had problems connecting to my car. I activated Developer Mode (for phone not Android Auto) and changed background processes to no more than 2 and it seems to have fixed both problems. The car connection required a few attempts at connecting but seems to work at least for a few mins. Will test more on my way home.
