    Hi,

I am having issues with AA on this phone. When I plug it in, it charges, but does not launch Android Auto or recognize it. I did a bit of research and tried setting to MIDI in default USB configuration, no change. Anyone else have this issue?

    Hi everyone,
I had also many issues with AA with my OP5. I looked every where on Google... The best thing I've found so far is to plug the phone with a short USB cable into the car. Even the original one doesn't work. It crashes a lot less than before but I haven't be able to get WhatsApp or Telegram's notifications. Just the first time I plugged it in...
I hope it could help some people...

you need to go to about phone and click on build number till it turns on the developer option then go to settings go down to system and click on it once open go to developer options turn it on and scroll down to debugging and turn on USB debugging this will allow AA to work

I am also facing same problem. It's very pathetic to make call using android auto screen and other functions as well.
Unlocking the phone every time to change track is too difficult band dangerous while driving.

After last update nothing is changed. In my car, with OnePlus 6, AA starts in 1 minute but the touch screen in my car doesn't work. I need to push physical button to change between apps. Please find a solution.

I'm glad I found this as I brought my new car a week ago a Peugeot 308 and my 6t doesn't even connect to Android auto.
Have connected 2 Samsung phones and both worked fine.
    Any solutions chaps ?

I have a few of those data cables that don't work in my truck with my 7t pro but work on Samsung it's possible that both the leed and the debugging let you connect

You can also go to the Play Store and download Android Auto for Phone Screens, which is only available on Android 10 devices. Once you install the app, you can continue to use Android Auto on your phone screen.

Just bought a Honda Civic and tried plugging in my 8pro. All I can do is charge the phone. I used a note 20 ultra and it worked fine. I just bought a new charging cable and it didn't work. Can anybody confirm the developer mode and debugging "solution" actually works?

Not sure if that is the same problem for everybody. I tried all the things like everybody did - switching cables, switching phones and getting to the developer mode changing settings....and end up right before I go to the dealership, I reset the car system back to factory setup and after some waiting...for the system loading...it works just like when I got my car on the first day. Hopefully this helps.

Amazing, just checked here and it seemed like OnePlus still haven't fixed this ages-old bug! I got rid of my oneplus because of this and I'm now happy Xiaomi user and android auto works every single time without having to screw around with developer options and other bs.

Amazing they can make this work but "never settle" guys can't... Tells you something, good luck guys!

I found that changing the cable made the difference. I had a generic cable that worked with other phones, but it wouldn't work with my OP8. I took the charging cable that came with the phone and it worked perfectly
