Don't know where this falls under, but just wanted to get something going. :)

I've used all 3. And right now I am currently using WP. It does what it's supposed to do pretty well, and first fell in love with live tiles. But then the feeling of "omglivetilesareawesome" went away lol. So now trying to switch full time to an android. My wife has an LG G3 and it's really snappy. Very very good phone. Tried it, loved it. So I am here wondering has anyone of you guys and girls probably got tired of using either iPhones or WP and is now trying to jump to android or vice versa, what made you switch? :)

I used Android and WP, iOS only for testing on friends devices. I love the simplicity and performance witz WP, but it freezes/crashes often and you don't get good Apps. That's why I am back to Android. iOS is no alternative for me, too restricted, too limited, too controlled by apple.

the only smart phone i have is a windows phone. which i was attracted by its design and generally snappy nature. But the ecosystem was killed when the WP7.5 was unable to upgrade to WP8 (coz of kernal changes). But i felt left out in the misery.

IOS is beautiful especially with IOS8, but still should be more open to customisation i believe, coz of the UI nature.
Ideally, it would be an OS right in the middle between Android & IOS, where it is OPEN enough for customisation but not too open to allow users / developers to create apps that will screw up the phone & bog it down.

haha i was just wondering coz i was considering the Oneplus One. It seems like a great phone and I did not know at first that we cannot buy it outright so I was just browsing through the forums and wanted to know what phones people are currently using and why they wanted to switch. same for me kind of getting annoyed by WP specially after they wanted the 8.1 DP downgrade again to 8.0 lol laughable

Looks like I'm the 00.1% then.

Until I get my OPO tomorrow. Going to be my first Android phone. (iPhone 4s atm)

Haha, I actually dislike iOS 7(+).

PS: Jailbroke my iOS devices since iOS 4.

Its cool. Now to your question.
I think iOS; WP; Sailfish; Megoo, Firefox OS, Symbian & Android etc are different platforms.
People love it in so many ways. Each and everyone has its own way of making these OSes work to his or her own preference. Android because it kinda (Open) as compared to the others. Android leads because of its customizations and its affordability. With iOS, your Security is assured.
