It is not evident nor is my truth, but I have read and found a good sign. I have a 3T, a 5 and a 6T. Oneplus has already upgraded the 5's, and has fulfilled everything they said they would do.
I think it will be for very brief, yes

well they haven't done the same for OnePlus 2.
it's a well known controversy on all forums.

And the reasons for that have been rehashed again and again.

    I'll agree with the above.

Each one asks about what to do with the upgrade.
    Tired enough.
    Patience my Friends.

I'm really curious to see how OnePlus rolls out Pie for the 3 and 3T. Unlike 5(T) or 6(T) which have active Open Beta builds running, OnePlus 3/3T's Open Beta was stopped last year and fairly so. But now considering that Android Pie is a major update and any major update is bound to have several bugs, add to that the software must need to be stable since this is the last update we're gonna see for these devices (unless an hotfix is needed), I guess it would be prudent of OnePlus to release a couple of Beta builds to iron out any kinks before the final release. I for one wouldn't mind if it takes them some time to complete work on a stable update.

Nobody remembers that with op2 were leaked the same images on geekbench with nougat and then turn out to be simply a custom rom?
Now the One plus has officially expressed on the update, while for the op2 has never expressed ... We'll see

it's the lats OS update, but they say we're going to receive security patches for one more year, which means that even if there are bugs, there is time for bug fixes

True but they would want to keep bug fixes to a minimum. Fixing bugs would mean they need a development team to continue working, security patch every two months means they have very little work to do after this update.

A closed beta team is there to test the OS before rollout to global users.

If it is EOL then we should not get an update at all, is that what you're saying?

The release date of the 3T was 15 November 2016. The OP3 and 3T are supported as one. Two year's support would have ended 14 November 2018. This thread began 30 Jul 2018.

We aren't lucky people who should be eternally grateful to Oneplus for even the mere mention of the possibility of giving us an update to Android P. We were promised an update well within the support cycle and that promise has gone undelivered for over 5 months. People are understandbly annoyed and have every right to some kind of status update.
