Indeed that's the way development works, people work on it and when it's ready it gets released.

No matter what you are willing to wait for, it should not be hard to see that the PROMISE of bimonthly security updates have not been met, here 3½ months later.

It is clearly a broken promise, even if you dont care about the security of your device, the pie update is less important than the security updates.

It's like having a car with bad paint and broken brakes and you would rather have your car painted, than the brakes fixed.

For OP3/3T getting 3rd major OOS is a nice thing. They could give us just 8.1 and be done with us. So yes, I am happy and eagerly waiting. Of course, let's don't lie to ourselves. They made this decision for a good reasin (good positive ads about the brand, no need to invest additional time and effort to finetune 8.1 when rest of phones are getting 9 and that's where they wanna spend major time, and maybe a 'thank you' for OP3/3T users for giving this brand their trust so they could become what they (OP) are today).

that's the thing that frustrates most of the 3/t users. the pie is taking too long, we're no longer excited. what we really want now is a security patch. the promised bi-monthly is not happening

    No. I'm unlucky. I don't know anything.
Why should I? CBT for OP3/3T has not existed for months. How am I supposed to know?

I'd rather both TBH, I was content to wait for Pie & January's security update but as I've posted earlier today, the fact the OP5's are now getting March's security update is a bit of a slap in the face for the OP3's owners.

this guy thinks that just because I participated in the beta program, I would know all OS development plans up to 2100.

Actually the paint analogy isn't bad. Monthly security patches are like paint, rather than fix the underlying rust you paint over it and say there the body looks fine. The monthly patches give the illusion that security is bang up to date without having to actually do anything.

I personally am a great believer in fixing bugs when they are found not to an arbitrary calendar, granted OnePlus are currently doing neither at the moment, which is even worse than painting over the rust.
