The update he's given on the XDA forum suggests he knows more than the average mod on this forum, he certainly gives the impression he's heavily connected to OP even if he's not directly employed by them.

That's a bit of a petty reason to be mad at OnePlus considering that they released a newer device 6 months after the launch of its predecessor, just as they do with most of their line up

When I used that term, I was playing the role of a novice user who has no clue... (It's called sarcasm).

Not a baby, you need to read the title, it's still "coming"... Biggest j1zz of the year.

You've answered your own question. OP7 is coming out pretty soon, and 3/3t are technically EOL devices. Sure Pie is coming out soon, but at this point the 3/3t are deprioritized and therefore very minimal support.

At this point get a new phone (from a different brand) if you want frequent updates. Nokia, Google, and Blackberry give monthly security updates if that's your sort of thing.

No they haven't don't you see the proofs
    1. Closed leaked beta build
    2. Hydrogen OS open beta based on Android Pie has been released-

If you have any issues please read this first-

First see than I believe it, they also would update the OP2 and in the end just a bug fix, which didn't fix anything, OP screwed me with the OP2, need to see if the story repeats it self or not, if so the 3t was my last phone for sure

HMD at least keeps it promises so far, every month an update, pie in 2 months, OP on the other hand bi-monthly updates eh no 4,5 months later no update at all that is not what they promised to do, OP has a lot to learn in this matter!!!!!
HMD even upgraded their budget phone to Pie, eh OP what did you do so far???

Yes why support ur customers, why want them to buy a new phone again, if there are so many new customers, until they found out the same.
