    Thanks for feedback.

I didn't see any reference to Q in the linked article.

However, further searching in "9 to 5" does refer to Q.

Further, the code found was in the Google Play Store app and not in Q itself. But I suppose Store can tell which Android version you have.

So just to settle my mind, do you have a link that says it's for Q only?

The article on this that I read on Android Central (will try to dig up link) was seeming to suggest this was just an interface change, rather than any new means for giving security updates direct...so it would still be down to OnePlus, Samsung, Motorola etc. to develop and release updates. It's just the updates could then be delivered through store like apps, rather than through current menus are in settings.

Consider before posting actually searching first. There is already a post dedicated to the Community Beta release for Pie on 3/3T. See here https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/taste-of-pie-android-9-community-beta-for-oneplus-3-3t.1015981

In that thread is literally an FAQ that answers your question.

Although I do notice you mentioned "oppo3" instead of oneplus 3. Not sure if that is just a typo or not. Review the other thread that talks about the Community Beta release,

Great news about Android P on Oneplus 3. But mine only has Android Security Patch from November 2018, and no updates yet. Shouldn't we be receiving these security patches in between?

The community beta of Pie (detailed here) has April 2019 security update... it's likely next update will be final Pie, so you'll have to wait for your security fixes until that comes off you're not trying this beta...

Just updated my OP3 to pie with open beta (community) release of Pie.
Corporate email works now. Finally OP has completed its promise!

This is the first beta I'm trying and I'm quite liking it.
It's running much smoother than the latest stable build I was using (5.0.8) which would slow down and stutter a lot sometimes.
The only problem I see so far is the battery not lasting as much. It's a 3 year hold smartphone charged everyday, so the battery is not in it's best condition for sure, but with the stable version I was still getting around 3h of sot and now it's hard to get to 2h30. Hope the stable release fixes that somehow.
Also had a couple of random restarts but I also had that from time to time on 5.0.8
The last thing I noticed was a slight delay in turning the NFC on. Maybe 3 or 4 seconds but nothing special, it's just that before it was instantaneous.
Maybe if I had done a clean install it would not have these issues but I won't bother with that for now.
